Basic Trope: A sex-crazed character who is portrayed as likable.

  • Straight: Sam can be quite the pervert, but he's a heroic character and his perverted acts are Played for Laughs.
  • Exaggerated: Sam is constantly having sex with other people and is an All-Loving Hero.
  • Downplayed: Sam is a pretty friendly guy who's constantly making dirty jokes.
  • Justified: Sam doesn't let being obsessed with sexual activities make him a bad person.
  • Inverted:
    • Chaste Hero
    • A perverted character is portrayed as unlikable.
    • The villain is chaste.
  • Subverted: As much of a perverted hero Sam is, nobody trusts him.
  • Double Subverted: But when they look back at his heroism acts, they regain his trust.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: Sometimes Sam is likable, and sometimes he isn't.
  • Averted: There are no characters that are obsessed with sex.
  • Enforced: The work is trying to show that Sex Is Good or at least interesting.
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: Jim makes sure that Sam gets arrested for sexual misconduct. Being such a dirty man, Sam has plenty of evidence for the cops to find.
  • Defied: "Sam, put the dirty magazines away!"
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: Sam is a pretty nice person and is sometimes seen giggling at suggestive comments.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Sam ends up falling for a villain that tries to seduce him.
    • Not everybody finds Sam "lovable", especially those who had bad prior experiences. They expect Sam to be a sexual assault lawsuit waiting to happen (regardless of what Sam was actually doing) and refuse to have anything to do with him.
  • Reconstructed:
    • However, he later finds out that this person is a villain, and ends up telling them "Sorry, you're not my type!"
    • Then they encounter Bill, who most definitely does not has the "lovable" part of the label, and after Sam saves them (because he definitely has higher moral standards) they come to tolerate his sex-based eccentricities (even if they keep asking him to cut it out).
