Basic Trope: Despite a sexy scene, characters don't seem to notice it, either that or they don't care.
- Straight: Alice is in Bob's room wearing a skimpy nightie. He pays her no mind.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice is on Bob's bed, naked, touching herself. Bob doesn't even notice her.
- Alice is stripped (or chooses to strip) naked in public. Nobody as much as glances at her.
- Downplayed:
- Bob glances at Alice, but that's about it.
- Alice is showing a fair amount of cleavage, but nothing excessive. Bob ignores her.
- Bob ignores Alice, but his face hints that he is tempted.
- Justified:
- Bob is too distracted by other things to notice Alice.
- Alice is often at Bob's place, and while there, she frequently walks around in her underwear. He's used to it.
- Alice and Bob are Like Brother and Sister, so it would be weird if he found it attractive.
- Bob and Alice had sex not too long ago, so he's still sated from that.
- Bob is Asexual.
- Bob hates Alice too much to find her attractive.
- Bob is aware of Alice's ulterior motivations, having had many women try to seduce him for the exact same reason.
- Bob is in a Seduction-Proof Marriage, and is therefore immune to Alice's charms.
- Bob is gay.
- Bob is blind.
- Bob is a kid… The fuck is wrong with you, Alice!?
- Bob is antisexual and is therefore disgusted by Alice's attempts to seduce him.
- Inverted: Distracted by the Sexy.
- Gender Inverted: Bob takes off his shirt and wears Painted-On Pants. Alice doesn't even give him a second glance.
- Subverted:
- The nightie-clad Alice is in Bob's room, but he doesn't pay attention... because also in the room is the bustier, more scantily-clad Charlene.
- Bob is ignoring Alice until she gets naked. Then he stops what he's doing.
- Double Subverted:
- Bob's mainly looking at Charlene because she's engaging him in conversation.
- When Alice gets naked, Bob stops what he's doing... to ask her to Please Put Some Clothes On.
- Parodied: Bob doesn't notice Alice even while he's having sex with her.
- Zig-Zagged:
- Bob is looking at Charlene both because she's talking to him about something important — and because she's removing what little she's wearing.
- Alice doesn't have Bob's attention, so she gets naked. He asks her to Please Put Some Clothes On... after they have sex.
- Averted: Bob is relatively distracted by Alice.
- Enforced: "We've gotta up the Unresolved Sexual Tension between these two! But how..."
- Lampshaded:
- "Wow, Bob, you must be the least perverted man in the world."
- "Oh, come on, Bob, Aren't You Going to Ravish Me?"
- Invoked: Alice's Alpha Bitch rival is texting Bob the whole time so he doesn't pay attention to Alice.
- Exploited: Charles, who's wanted to get in Alice's pants for years, starts pointing out that Bob doesn't seem to find her that sexy...
- Defied: Bob pretends to be a drooling pervert over naked Alice because he doesn't want his male friends thinking he's gay.
- Discussed:Bob: Oh, hi, Alice. I didn't see you naked there.Alice: Weird. Most guys would be ogling all over me naked.
- Conversed: "Damn! If a girl was in a nightie on my bed, I'd definitely be looking."
- Implied: The camera shows Bob nonchalantly packing a briefcase in his bedroom, but never once points in the direction of his bed. After Bob leaves, the camera shows a disgruntled Alice getting dressed in Bob's bedroom.
- Played for Laughs:
- Alice is comically oblivious to Bob not paying attention to her.
- The method Bob uses to show he does not care about Alice's attractiveness causes Alice to suffer hilarious slapstick.
- Played for Drama:
- Alice thinks Bob isn't paying attention to her because he hates her.
- Alice gets sick and dies from overexposure.
- Alice shows some skin to imply she will give Bob sexual favors if he does something for her. Bob showcases he is above this (consequences be damned) by breaking her nose.
- Played for Horror: Bob is a Serial Killer or assassin and Alice tries to prevent her death by sexually enticing him. Bob murders her anyway.
Back to Ignore the Fanservice. Oh, I didn't see that naked woman there. How about that.
