- The above scenario becomes an Overly Long Gag.
- The episode was already over 2 hours long. However, what happens after this keeps going for over an hour.
- Downplayed: Alice and Bob get to keep going for a few more seconds, but not much more.
- Justified:
- Alice and Bob are aware they're in a TV show, and still have a few more important things to do before the episode ends.
- They know that they still have 5 more minutes to fill for the season finale… cue Charles and his troupe crappily recapping the season for those that have missed it.
- Inverted:
- The characters say that there's going to be a lot more in the episode, but then it ends abruptly.
- Things happen without Alice and Bob, then they show up and forcefully begin the episode.
- Subverted: After Alice and Bob push out the "The End" title, the real title suddenly appears and crushes them, ending the episode for real.
- Double Subverted: But then the flattened Alice and Bob pushes "The End" title out, continuing the episode.
