Basic Trope: Americans are portrayed as antagonists.
- Straight:
- Alice the American is self-righteous, boorish, and sees any other country as defenseless without her help.
- The USA is a Hegemonic Empire and an Omnicidal Maniac sought to destroy the world and hold them as colonies.
- Exaggerated:
- Every American from the youngest baby to the elderly are Always Chaotic Evil.
- All Americans are Nazis By Any Other Name who ritually sacrifice their enemies to an effigy of George Washington below an American flag.
- Downplayed: The Americans are just as human as everyone else, and they are Unwitting Pawns misguided by their US government regime to the point of doing Necessarily Evil at worst.
- Justified:
- Klan Leader Evulz killed the president of the USA, took their position, and made the people follow his rules.
- President Evulz is the president of USA who combines the worst traits of them into one and uses his military career to rule them with an iron fist.
- The USA has fought too many countries, to the point they became their own nemesis.
- Inverted: Every other country in the world but the United States of America is evil.
- Subverted:
- At first the United States of America appears to be evil, but when the Protagonist goes there it turns out that it was his own country's, which is at war with the USA, Propaganda.
- Alice is distrusted by other people because she is an American, so people might think of her negatively and distrust her because of her background. As the protagonist, the story is about her dealing with stereotypes of her people.
- Alice is one of the few Americans who are not as violent, deranged, or Always Chaotic Evil as almost everyone else in her country. In fact, she is a member of a La RĂ©sistance group who opposes her dysfunctional government.
- Double Subverted: But, after taking a closer look it turns out that the USA is actually an oppressive regime run by Western Terrorists.
- Parodied: ???
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted: The US was never portrayed as an antagonistic entity.
- Enforced:
- The author's hometown was razed by American forces.
- The author has Majored in Western Hypocrisy enough to write a story with it as the Author Tract.
- Lampshaded:
- "America as the forces of evil? That must be a surprise."
- "The Oppressive States of America is planning some conspiracies, don't you think?"
- Invoked: President Evil stages The Coup in a Banana Republic, overthrowing the local government with Western Terrorists and terrorizing the natives there.
- Exploited: A Conspiracy Theorist from a Commie Land uses this trope to show people how evil and self-serving the US government really is.
- Defied: Alice the American keeps assuring her friends that her rifle is only for self-defence, after she was upset that some people would joke that she would start a mass shooting.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed:
- "Whoever created this sure hates us Americans"
- "You're an 'American'? Then how come you are so well-behaved and nice?"
- Deconstructed: The growing violence that pervades American society causes it to collapse as more people begin murdering each other, leaving only a few remnants to rebuild in an emptied wasteland. Other powers are also waiting to invade what was left of the US, since much of the land was left empty.
- Played for Laughs: Every American is depicted as a cartoonish, stereotypical bully, constantly bragging about their country and then brawling for trivial reasons.
- Played for Drama:
- Because Alice is from the American minority, she suffers from discrimination and harassment due to stereotypes of her people, constantly living in fear of being a target of mob violence. She is constantly punished and shunned for collective historical crimes that she personally had never committed, and even opposed, to the surprise of others who started to understand her.
- The United States of America manages to convince their own people and the world that they are destined for greatness and kick-starts their own war machine, leading up to World War III, and they all managed it with anyone knowing it.
- Played for Horror: The United States puts an oppressive watch on their colonies they conquered and slaughters everyone inside and out, selling humanity out. Even the American La RĂ©sistance against them only has a Hope Spot before they get brutally killed by the regime. With money and power they can get away with their war crimes as long as there is no strong opponent left against them.
