Basic Trope: An episode where everyone laughs at the end.
- Straight: Alice makes a bad joke, a good joke, or a pun and everyone laughs, including her. Fade to black.
- Exaggerated:
- Everyone laughs for a full minute.
- The entire episode is about a bizarre chain of misunderstandings that drive the entire cast into various conflicts. In the end everyone gathers together and realizes how ridiculous all of the fighting was, and are all reduced to laughing on the floor.
- Downplayed: Everyone lightly chuckles at Alice's quip.
- Justified:
- The pun was So Bad, It's Good or Actually Pretty Funny.
- Inverted:
- The episode has Downer Ending, leaving the entire cast in somber comtemplation.
- Everyone calls Alice out for the joke instead.
- Everybody Laughs Beginning; The episode starts with Alice and her friends laughing at the coffee table.
- Subverted:
- Alice's joke or pun does not attract any laughter whatsoever.
- Alice cracks a joke and she and John laugh but the laughs overs quickly when the next boss shows up.
- Double Subverted: ...but after a Beat, everyone laughs.
- Parodied: A small joke leads to everyone laughing who appeared in the episode, even if they aren't within hearing distance.
- Zig Zagged: Alice tells a joke. No one laughs but after a beat, they do. However, one character says "I don't get it"; or The Cynic or the villain don't laugh.
- Averted: Alice never attempts to make a joke or pun.
- Enforced:
- It's a comedy.
- The corpsed take, was the best take.
- Lampshaded: "Well, wasn't that a scream?"
- Invoked:
- Alice opens a joke book and says she knows a good one.
- Alice opens the Nitrox to full.
- Alice, wielding her Thompson, orders "Everybody, Laugh with Me!"
- Exploited: The villain takes the opportunity to slip away for the next episode, while everyone's distracted.
- Defied: Humor doesn't exist in their world, or they all have No Sense of Humor.
- Discussed: "Got a joke we can use to wrap up for today?"
- Conversed: "Why are they laughing? Isn't there a better way to end the episode?"
- Played for Drama: Everybody has gone Laughing Mad at the realization that it was All for Nothing. note
- Played for Horror: Alice has been captured by cannibals and the movies ends as they laugh as they eat her alive.
