Basic Trope: A hero's actions result in a villain coming into existence.

  • Straight: Bob accidentally kills a family while fighting another foe, leading to the sole survivor becoming the evil Emperor Evulz.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Bob faces a huge array of villains, all of whom he has slighted somehow.
    • Bob deliberately makes his own villain because he's bored of fighting his usual Rogues Gallery.
  • Downplayed: Evulz was already an unsavory character, but he became a true villain thanks to Bob's actions.
  • Justified: Evulz was already walking the Trauma Conga Line, and Bob's slight was what broke the camel's back.
  • Inverted: Evulz's actions create the hero Bob.
  • Subverted: Evulz claims Bob turned him into a villain, but he was just trying to gain sympathy with a sob story.
  • Double Subverted: The actual circumstances are less favorable to Evulz, but it's still ultimately because of Bob.
  • Parodied: Evulz is evil because Bob stole his teddy bear as a child.
  • Zig-Zagged: Evulz claims that Bob made him a villain, but there are conflicting accounts as to his real motivation.
  • Averted: Evulz did not become a villain because of Bob.
  • Enforced: The producers feel it is a simpler story if the hero and villain are connected.
  • Lampshaded: "Some say we create our own demons. I would have to agree."
  • Invoked: Bob's Token Evil Teammate encourages him to not care about collateral damage so Bob will have more enemies.
  • Exploited: The Corrupter searches for areas in which Bob has battled to find bitter kids to turn into villains.
  • Defied: Bob avoids any action that would inspire villains to want revenge against him.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: Evulz is mainly a Generic Doomsday Villain. However, some of his lines hint that he believes Bob has wronged him somehow.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Bob creates more villains, so ultimately he causes more problems than he solves.
    • Bob's attempt at creating his own villain goes horribly right and ends up facing someone who soundly delivers him a Curb-Stomp Battle.
  • Reconstructed: After seeing Evulz, Bob takes care to not cause more collateral damage, cementing him as a wholly positive force.
  • Played for Horror: Bob is amnesiac and has no memory at all of the incident Evulz claims caused his descent into evil. This leads Bob to spiral into paranoia over whether his past self actually was a worse villain than Evulz.
