Basic trope: A trio of girls consists of a "Smart one," a "Tough one", and a "Pretty one."

  • Straight: Alice is a teen tech wiz, Belinda is a super fighter, and Claire is a conventionally pretty sweetheart but a comparatively weaker fighter.
  • Exaggerated: Those are their only character traits - Fortune Teller Teen Genius Alice has Improbably High I.Q. and can use her wits to solve all problems, World's Strongest Woman Belinda has Super-Strength and resorts to using force without any question, and The Fashionista Head-Turning Beauty Claire is The Pollyanna All-Loving Heroine who is also the World's Most Beautiful Woman and Even the Girls Want Her.
  • Downplayed: It's clear that Alice is smart, Belinda is strong, and Claire is pretty, but they have many character facets, or perhaps there is some overlap (all are decently pretty, are appropriately strong, and have their own flavors of intelligence.)
  • Justified: As a team, they need a powerful fighter, an intelligent mastermind, and a charismatic face.
  • Inverted: Alice is The Ditz, Belinda is a weakling, and Claire is a Gonk.
  • Gender Inverted: Aaron is a teen tech wiz, Bob is a super fighter, and Charles is a conventionally handsome Nice Guy but a comparatively weaker fighter.
  • Subverted:
  • Double Subverted:
  • Parodied: Literally, Alice is a computer, Belinda is a firearm, and Claire is a vanity.
  • Zig Zagged: Daphne joins them from time to time, who does not fit any of these archetypes.
  • Averted: The Smurfette Principle for one, or if no character has any of these traits.
  • Enforced:
    • The executives think girls should need role models, and try to offer three variations.
    • Originally, there was just going to be a brain-and-brawns duo, but the execs demanded a Ms. Fanservice character, and this dynamic allowed the fanservice to be used naturally.
  • Invoked: The trio intentionally bands together since Alice can use her wits to solve problems, Belinda can use her strength to beat enemies, and Claire is a mediator between the two.
  • Lampshaded:
    • "No need to work out, Claire. Belinda is the fighter here."
    • "Okay, we got the brains, the brawn, and...What do you do exactly, Claire?" "Look fabulous, that's what!"
  • Exploited: Eleanora poses as a brainiac to infiltrate a group headed by fighter Frances and girly girl Gilda.
  • Defied:
    • The network fears the Girl-Show Ghetto, so later in the process, Alice is replaced by Aaron.
    • Alice, Belinda, and Claire refuse to band together since they don't want to be associated with the stereotypes.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "Alice is strong, Belinda is smart, and Claire is pretty. Bet you five dollars that they become a trio by the end of the episode."
  • Implied: "In the girl's locker room, I found an encyclopedia, boxing gloves, and a portable mirror, it should belong to someone else."
  • Deconstructed:
    • Claire is rejected and ignored due to she is considered as The Load of the team. When no beauty position, Brains Versus Brawn conflict between Alice and Belinda has erupted.
    • The personality mismatch among the team means they can't work together very effectively.
  • Reconstructed:
    • Despite her comparatively weaker fighting skill, Claire rejoins the team as The Heart or Team Mom which glues Alice and Belinda together.
    • But then Alice and Belinda get captured and Claire has to Show Some Leg to get them rescued, leading them to admit the value of her beauty.
    • Then they design a plan that requires them to work together and use their unique skills, reinvigorating their bonds.
  • Played For Laughs:
  • Played For Drama: All three of them feel inadequate in their talents and push themselves too hard. Alice doesn't get enough sleep because of her constant studying, Belinda over-exercises to a dangerous degree, and Claire has a serious eating disorder. They want to help each other, but they're so different as people that they don't really know how.
