Basic Trope: A level that's very short.
- Straight: In Amazing Adventure, levels usually take around five minutes to beat. Level 4 consists of a 30-second straight run to the goal with no obstacles.
- Exaggerated: You start the level right next to the goal.
- Downplayed: Levels take around 30 to 45 minutes to beat, but one can be beaten in 10 minutes using a shortcut.
- Justified: Level 4 takes place in a small area.
- Inverted: Marathon Level
- Subverted:
- Double Subverted: Not that much longer, as it only takes you about 30 more seconds to climb back up and reach the goal.
- Parodied:
- The level requires no player input to beat.
- The level is short... its loading screen on the other hand.
- Zig-Zagged: Until the goal starts flying away.
- Averted: Every level in Amazing Adventure is of an average length.
- Enforced:
- Playtesters found levels 3 and 5 very difficult, so the developers had to add a Breather Level.
- The developers ran out of time, but couldn't cut level 4 because it takes place in an important location, so they threw together something really short.
- The engine can't handle more than 6 exits per level, so the hub levels are kept relatively small to prevent backtracking from being too much of a chore.
- Level 4 is a cutscene level, you don't want these to outstay their welcome.
- Lampshaded: “Wait, the exit is already right there?”
- Invoked: The protagonist drinks a speed potion at the beginning of the level, making the level take much shorter of a time to beat.
- Exploited: The protagonist gets a power-up every time he beats a level, so he replays level 4 over and over to stockpile power-ups.
- Defied: The protagonist drinks a potion at the beginning of the level to turn himself into a snail, making the level take much longer to beat.
- Discussed: “Can’t one of these challenges be easy for once?”
- Conversed: "Since that level was really short, I bet something hard is coming up."
- Played for Laughs: The main character is disappointed that the level was so short.
- Played for Drama: Level 4 takes place in the ruins of a town. It's so short because it takes place in the only area that wasn't completely destroyed.
- Played for Horror: Level 4 abruptly ends when you reach a cutscene in which an Eldritch Abomination shows up and kills your character.
- Logical Extreme: Level 4 is literally just a single step away from the starting point, requiring no movement at all.
- Implied: The game hints at a secret hidden within level 4, suggesting that there may be more to it than meets the eye.
- Unparodied: The level is short, but there are no humorous or exaggerated elements associated with its brevity.
- Untwisted: The level appears short at first, but it remains that way throughout, without any unexpected lengthening or subversions.
- Deconstructed: The short level serves as a moment of frustration for the player, who expected a longer and more challenging experience.
- Reconstructed: Despite its brevity, the level serves as a refreshing break from the intense and lengthy levels that precede and follow it, allowing players to catch their breath.
