Comic Genesis is/was a free Webcomic service based in Cresbard, South Dakota. It was an offshoot of its "premium" service, KeenSpot and was founded in 2000 as Keenspace. The name was changed in 2004 to keep it from getting confused with its sister site. Comic Genesis allowed users to upload and organize their own webcomics. While the site required FTP and HTML knowledge of said users, it was nevertheless one of the most popular services of its type, and during its heyday it was one of the most influential entities in webcomics.

However, by 2019, the site had become an Internet Ghost Town, with only a handful of active comics and deteriorating services. The latter problem led to an extended multi-month breakdown of the CG update system, which in turn prompted a final migration of most remaining clients. As of January 2024, the site remains technically active, and its archives are still online.
