Spoilers Off applies to all Nightmare Fuel pages, so all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

  • Edgar Allan Poe's Procrastination Monster scaring him away from the typewriter before he can finish his work. He grows old, and when he drums up the nerve to write, he dies. Truth in Television and sobering.
  • When Stephen King is portrayed as writing during his alcoholic and cocaine binges, he towers over his desk in a frothing rage while tapping madly. His family watching with terror from the doorway only adds to the horror. While he and the real Stephen King get sober and fix things with his family, it’s disturbing to watch.
  • "A Poison Tree". It's implied that a basketball coach molested one of his student players, a young girl, but he got away with it because he was a good coach, and his victim was intimidated into telling no one. She visits him as an adult, with a knife, and leaves him to bleed in his house. To make matters worse, we see dozens of class pictures of him and the many athletes he taught over the years, implying that she might not be his only victim…
  • Fear is a giant monster that causes great devastation. It then leads into a Moment of Awesome when all the recurring Zen Pencils characters come together to conquer it and laugh when it turns small.
  • Malala getting shot. One minute she’s talking and laughing with her friends, the next a terrifying man with a gun is screaming at them. It doesn't help that this happened in real life, though mercifully she survived and went on to become a role model for women everywhere.
