The game has unique character designs but when new younger gamers start playing this after it got released in 2006, things get pretty scary for them.
  • The literal entire Nightmare clan.
    • When this clan came out in mid 2006, people who bought one of the clan's cards; Estalt thought he was a human with a clan full of monsters because his cropped first level but when they evolve him and the website changed their interior and card designs, he's actually a human-like demon sitting on his tail.
    • Their K.O. animation before the site change, is just a skeleton-like ghost who comes out a grave and flies at the viewer. It's very hard to play the game without getting startled from it...
  • Berzerk's Xantiax gas can make everyone into red-skinned, yellow-eyed, buffed out angry monsters which it fits Clint City's World Gone Mad scenario.
  • Freaks can consider with this.
    • Like Estalt whose a human man with a devil tail, players though Titus was a normal tiger but according to the artwork done by one of the older artists, Pascal Kov aka APEKA, players did not realize that they did not read the beginning part of Titus' bio is that he's actually a genetically-modified tiger. Take a look at the three levels of his art!
  • Dominion is also consider as this.
  • One word: Oculus.
  • Oh boy. In mid 2023, Acute Games commissioned a new artist for Urban Rivals, Nicolas Rossius aka NICOLASROSSIUSISNOTEVIL and ALL of his artwork are this.
  • GhosTown, in their first release in 2017, are this with Body Horror.
  • Skeelz even fall into this with Demonink and Nekron.
  • Despite being a ghetto street gang themed clan, Bangers has MC Decay who is hauntedly based on Tupac Shakur. No kidding.
  • Golden B from Uppers has two levels of her being gagged on a chair & having her two arms being burned and wrapped in a straitjacket.
