"I am (Ore sama wa).. Tsurugi Ohtori. Which means... I, Don Armage have obtained the ultimate body."
  • Pay close attention to the Downer Beginning of Space 1. One Mook holds a child, and just before it zooms out to space, another mook swings a blade towards it.
  • Depending on how far into the future this series is, there's the possibility that any or all Super Sentai teams (even ones we haven't seen yet) are dead or at least in some kind of imprisonment.
    • Jossed. Kyuuranger is in a different dimension from the past Super Sentai seasons. That being said, it means there was nobody to defend the Earth from the Jark Matter.
  • Lucky gets tossed into space, and his body slowly starts to freeze. Even with the low budget, it still looks pretty painful.
  • In Space 4 the citizens are okay with allowing the Monster of the Week to eat the dreams of their children. Their justification is that the kids aren't physically harmed, and the people can continue to live.
  • Eridoron's Tranquil Fury in response to the two kids the Kyurangers met, Kotaro and Jiro, throwing rocks at him to try and protect the Kyurangers is horrifyingly chilling, not helped at all by the fact that his voice drops to an almost sadistic whisper. Thankfully, Stinger instead decides to take the kids hostage.
Eridoron: Stinger... Show them what happens if you defy Jark Matter. Kill them.
  • Just the state of Earth. Sure, other Sentai series have Earth invaded by aliens, but the rangers blow up the monster and learn a valuable lesson about Teamwork or Friendship. This is the first one where Earth is occupied by the enemy forces to begin with. The show goes to a very real place by showing people who are clearly displaced, Jark Matter Flags all over Earth, and a clear loss of hope by the people. For a kids show it definitely went above and beyond to show this wasn't a typical fight in The Abandoned Warehouse District, Earth was conquered and its people are suffering as a result.
  • Madako's Healing Factor extends to more than just her limbs. As long as any part of her survives she'll just come back.
    • The fact that regenerating her whole body causes her to suffer a minor case of Personality Death can be a bit unnerving for people afraid of such things.
  • From Space 11 comes frightening new life form. The Deathworm. A tunneling predator that devours everything in it's path and can even devour an entire city's biosphere without others of it's kind. It's introduced to the viewer by bursting out of nowhere and devouring three Indavers. Deathworms are dangerous enough that the mere presence of one was enough to force Ikagen and Madako to retreat out of fear.
  • Ikagen's eyes.
  • Champ in Space 16 despite being a robot gets a pretty Family-Unfriendly Death. Usually, Defeat Equals Explosion in Super Sentai will have one of two results; either the body is completely reduced to smoke and flames, or an inexplicably intact corpse is left behind. Not Champ; he is scattered into mangled, half-melted chunks. And his head is still talking!
  • The plan of the Daikaan of the Week from Space 17 is rather scary once Fridge Horror sets in. It sets up an artificial dome that projects an artificial sun that stays on for twenty-two hours a day, causing the people inside to be very stressed from overwork. What's more, being a Living Shadow, it can attack anyone anywhere within its influence if it so much hears the pettiest of insults.
  • Space 20: Scorpio makes Stinger Brainwashed and Crazy. The process is just unsettling. While this reduces Stinger to a feral state ala Takaoka Eiji, it makes him an even stronger fighter. Wait, it gets worse. He then proceeds to viciously beat up Kotaro, nearly killing him.
    • Right before Scorpio infects Stinger, Stinger injects himself with a venom that heightens his fighting abilities, but will kill him in the process.
  • Space 21: Scorpio reverts back to his human form after he takes the effects of Stinger's Antares on himself. His face looks mostly like it used to besides badly mismatched eyes mirroring his monstrous form and Antares marks.
  • Space 26: Akyanba turned Naga into the Kyuranger version of Kuroto Dan. Spasmic movements while transforming? Check. Large Ham? Check. Unhinged? Apparently.
  • Space 28: Dark Naga is seen again. His behavior can be best described as a deranged madman who loves to cause chaos! Maybe there's a good reason why the Hebitsukai race buried their emotions long ago.
  • Space 30: Despite killing Don Armage in the past, when our heroes return to the present, Don Armage is still around and nothing has changed. Not even death will put an end to Don Armage's rule of the universe.
  • Space 31: Dark Naga continues to be freaking disturbing and tops this by forcing Echidna into commiting suicide by blowing her brains out. Thankfully, it didn't work out.
  • Starting from Space 41, Tsurugi has been having pains in his chest. He's unable to fight when he has one, and things are pointing to a rather bad ending... Yeah, he is dead meat.
  • Space 44: Unlike most incarnations of Don Armage, who have a very distinct personality, Kuervo as Don Armage seems to be completely in control. This makes some of his actions, such as covering up Tsurugi's existence, a lot more disturbing. Also, he blew up his own home planet, and plans to do the same for Earth. The heavy contrast between flashback Kuervo and Don Armage Kuervo is rather disturbing.
  • Space 46: Kuervo's suicidal charge ar Tsurugi is somewhat disturbing, considering that he is trying to kill his former best friend in cold blood (I know, trying again in fact) and he is screaming like a madman.
    • Don Armage possesses Tsurugi and twists him into monstrous form that seems to claw its way out of him.
  • High School Wars Episode 1: The Jark Matter built a facility on a planet to brainwash the brightest minds in the galaxy to work for them.
  • Episode of Stinger shows that Scorpio has approached his tribe in normal way and they even greeted him as if nothing was off. Then things took a nosedive and he started to murder them left and right.
    • Mika murdering all the people who mistreated her in a way similar to Scorpio slaughtering his tribe.
    • Mika's death.
