While the third movie explained that the Graboid life cycle ends with the Ass-Blasters, this movie does manage to bring something new to the table by revealing what Graboids look like in their infancy. The idea of a baby Graboid may sound silly and cute, but the fact that they are capable of jumping out of the ground to attack their prey makes it clear that they are still dangerous creatures, even at such a young stage in their life.
The movie provides a lovelyCall-Back to Old Fred's death from the first movie by having the heroes come across one of the locals (also named Fred) with only his head remaining.
The death of Black Hand Kelly, who is still alive inside a Graboid's mouth as it drags him down under.
