What's scarier than a Satanic ghost? A Satanic ghost with fire powers...
  • The ghost of Mary Elnor is terrifying enough in her own right. A manipulative, sadistic spirit who has no qualms with sending massive amounts of innocent souls to eternal damnation all for her own benefit is shockingly evil and vile. Her appearance is equally disturbing, with her distorted body concealed in a hooded shroud, long clawed fingers, and uncanny mask depicting the face of the Virgin Mary crying blood. Her goals and blasphemy is even more disturbing for viewers of religious backgrounds, especially Catholicism and/or Judaeo-Christian faiths.
  • The climax of the film, where a seemingly defeated Mary attempts revenge. She removes her mask to reveal the zombie-like face underneath, complete with bulging black eyes and sharp, rotted teeth. The terror of her ability to set the area (and people) on fire is shown when she burns a man to ash onscreen and tries to burn down the tent.
    • Mary's entire plan. She attempts to send innocent people, people who put their faith in God, to eternal damnation in Hell all to sustain her own existence. To make things worse, she tries to do so on a massive scale, with an entire Catholic mass and the various people watching worldwide via the Internet.
  • Mary's attacks on men of the Church, which commonly result in deaths that openly mock their faith. This includes the stalking and eventual murder of Father William Hagan via hanging, and then framing his death as a suicide, which is taboo in the Catholic religion. There is also her attack on Monsignor Delgarde, who she first taunts by making the statues of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary cry blood, then sets a crucifix on fire, then kills him by impaling him with said flaming crucifix.
  • Gerry's dreams and hallucinations, which feature Mary crawling from the ground in a twisted, distorted manner resembling demonic possession, and the Jump Scare moments when she appears in front of and around him while he is awake.
  • The entire scene leading up to and including Father William Hagan's murder. He finds the reports of Mary, and then the audience sees him from Mary's point of view, mask and all. She then verbally mocks him by pretending to confess, stating her intentions of murdering him before grabbing him and killing him via hanging, with the reveal of his dead body being a Jump Scare.
