Nightmare Fuel / The Blind Side

Go To

  • Miss Sue the tutor (an Ole Miss alumnus like the Tuohys) tries to scare Michael away from arch-rival Tennessee by relocating the university's body farm to underneath the football field and warns him about undead hands grabbing him during football practice.
    • She wasn't talking about the body farm, but the skeletons stored by the anthropology department, which is in the stadium and one of the largest collections of modern bodies in the world. The hands reaching up to grab you however does completely count.
  • This scene, in which Miss Sue flat-out lies to Michael in order to get him to do what she and the Tuohys want, rather strongly implies that the NCAA investigator is right and that the Tuohy family has been manipulating Michael.
  • The movie opens with footage of Lawrence Taylor tackling Joe Theismann. The way Taylor rises up and descends on Theismann puts nothing in mind as much a killer whale surfacing to make a kill. Especially when you know that the tackle resulted in Theismann breaking a leg.
  • Michael tackling the drug dealer might come off as a bit of this. He's normally a harmless Gentle Giant, so seeing him being actually violent can be kinda unsettling.
    • During the scuffle a small child gets severely rattled when her crib is knocked over as Michael defends himself, much to the mother's horror. Michael is equally rattled and promptly leaves the scene immediately after the dust settles.
  • The scene where Michael accidentally crashes his truck with SJ in the front seat. They both emerge okay with only cuts and bruises to show for it, but parental worries is firmly in play as Leigh Anne rushes to the scene to see her sons. Michael takes the situation about as well as anybody else would, sitting by the curb in extreme distress and apologizing profusely for his mistake.
