- One shot of the fish shows them stopping in front of a woman and letting out a screech that sounds (and looks) positively HATEFUL.
- The attack on the children in the original, and the scene where the young boy sees his father being eaten by the piranhas and almost gets eaten himself.
- For that matter the later assault at the water park was stunning in the extent of its carnage. Scenes such as that are a dime a dozen now, but in the late 70's it was horrifying!
- The trailer counts as well. It starts out chipper until the narrator comes in. The shorter trailer could be considered worse.
- The Japanese poster◊ manages to be creepier than the American posters with its simplicity. No oversized piranha about to eat a woman in a bikini, no piranhas about to attack a bunch of people, just... a single piranha appearing from pitch-black darkness, showing its nightmarish face.
