"I seek them all, all those on your list. Joyfully: I may take them one by one, I may take them all at once."

Are you afraid of death? Because have no doubt, death stalks you in town on Gorkhon.

Warning: Spoilers in Moments pages are unmarked according to the TV Tropes spoiler policy.
  • The Prologue flashes you forward to Day 12. It appears to be the worst ending. All the named characters besides Artemy, Daniil, and Clara are dead. The cure is too late, or out of reach. Death itself appears before you to taunt you. The Inquisitor and the General make a grim calculation, and decide to destroy the entire town... and then you wake up on a train.
  • Death, or perhaps The Sand Pest, is very chatty in this game. Artemy is shown horrifying visions of his allies, who are all children, hung by their necks, while Death mocks him for even trying.
  • The player's first introduction to the Termitory is a Kin woman tossing herself out the window while a horrified crowd watches. To make matters worse, a girl you are supposed to protect is trapped inside.
  • The sound of wraiths gasping when they freeze.
  • The House of Death that you go into near the end of Day 3. The very second you enter, it becomes abundantly clear that something about it is not right, you're not alone, and you're being watched. By what, you may ask? Some unholy thing that only manifests as a whispering howl and a smear of blood in the loose shape of a skull on the wall. Worse, it follows you, and just being in its vicinity erodes your immunity and puts you in danger of catching the plague. You can't fight it, you can't escape it, and you can't even hide. Your only course of action is to light all the candles in the house to drive it away, and at the time, you don't even know if that's going to work because it's just based off an old steppe legend. And just to drive it home, what exactly this phenomenon is is never truly explained. Is it an early manifestation of the Sand pest, or is it something else entirely? You'll never know.
  • The ominous Termitory is under quarantine for most of the game, leading characters to assume that the people in there (a third of the town's population) might all survive the plague unharmed. When you finally do enter it on day 7, the inside is littered with corpses, all the walls are smeared with unsettling stick figure drawings, and the few hundred survivors can be heard screaming non-stop.
  • The Willows, Anna Angel's location is quite unnerving even before you meet Anna Angel. It is very dark, and unlike other locations, there is absolutely no background music, so it is completely silent. Anna herself has elements of a Monster Clown, confesses to being part of a caravan that was infamous for killing children and wants to deliver abandoned babies in the town to some unknown 'friends'. One of the cabinets in the Willows contains the scrap paper item implying she has stolen someone's identity.
  • Listening to the voices coming from the mass graves. The spirits know nothing but pain and cold as they're crowded together in the dark - imagine being Buried Alive and it going on even after you're dead. And poor Grace hears this CONSTANTLY.
