Monsters at Work is a show about monsters who used to collect literal Nightmare Fuel. What'd you expect again... again?
- "The Damaged Room" gives us a good reminder of how dangerous monsters can be even when they aren't trying to be scary. One sneeze from Thaddeus "Phlegm" Bile melts the wall of a baby's room. Now imagine if that had touched little "Snore"…
- Argus Blinks himself isn’t very intimidating despite his stern nature. His extra eyes he uses to gather information on the other hand are downright unnerving; enough to disturb even Mike and Sulley.
- The "Mike's Comedy Class" at the end of "The Vending Machine" has very literal Monster Clowns. Most of them pull off clown makeup and attire quite well, but the last one is genuinely terrifying.
- "Adorable Returns" reveals that the Monster World can have temperatures as high as 251 degrees Fahrenheit WITH 140% Humidity! It is literally enough to make the weather monster melt into a puddle of goo and teeth.
- The Reveal as to why Adorable had been banished in the first place; he had discovered a letter from Waternoose discussing plans for the Scream Extractor, meaning Randall and Waternoose had been devising their plan for over a decade.
- Cutter often explains the deaths of former MIFTers and even keeps what remains of them as mementos. While this is usually Played for Laughs and Black Comedy, the episode "Bad Hair Day" goes into detail about the death of David and how he essentially got mulched in a shredder shaft. Tylor almost meets the same fate when he tries to retrieve another lock of his hair after Roto eats it.
- The season two season finale is intense. Especially with the return of Randall!
- Speaking of that finale, Randall and Johnny's plan is genuinely unnerving. In addition to siphoning laugh power from Monsters Inc. and making them look incompetent, they mix it with scream energy, something Tylor knows will cause a catastrophic explosion in addition to a permanent blackout across Monstropolis. Had the plan succeeded? It would've very likely killed countless monsters in addition to plunging Monstropolis into permanent darkness.
