Nightmare Fuel / Milo

Though Milo didn't have very many scary moments (being a basic children's cartoon probably had something to do with it), there were a few, most of which have some aspect of "what if?" to them.

  • Milo's actual nightmare in "Milo and the Wounded Bird" had him shrunken and living in a nest with several birds. That is quite a humorously silly idea and they were quite friendly, but there were some scarier aspects to it as well: he was much smaller, meaning that he could be seriously injured or killed if he fell and they also wouldn't let him see his family again. Thank God (do anthropomorphic bunnies have a god?) that it was All Just a Dream.
  • When Milo nearly eats a toadstool in the otherwise lighthearted episode "A Night in the Forest". Lucky George was there to stop him. You can't blame George for sounding worried. Not only could Milo have been poisoned if he did eat the toadstool, he's George's own son so of course he'd be worried.
  • When Milo puts blue paint in the water to make it look like the ocean. It starts as a light, funny scene but then he pours the paint in and he and Vanessa frantically change the water. Luckily, the fish survives and doesn't get sick but he could've gotten sick (or worse, died) if they'd been any slower. Yikes!
  • The various water-safety-related moments in "Seashells and Sea Creatures", including the lifeguard mentioning that "The sea can creep up on you" and him motioning to stay away from the water when the tide rises. Another moment when the tide rises is when Milo wants to stay and play in the water.
Milo's Teacher: "But what will happen when the tide rises and the boulder you're on turns into an island?"
*Milo looks down worriedly at the water*
  • In "Milo's Cleanup Crew" when Milo and Judith find bottles of cleaning liquid under the sink and sniff them and try to drink them, thinking they're syrup. Thank goodness Vanessa found them before they drank any, and also imagine being Vanessa in that situation—you have a six-year-old son and his friend who almost drank poison! And it sounds like some really bad stuff, judging by what she says.
Vanessa: "If you'd drank any, even a little bit, it could've made you very sick."
  • Milo's magical eraser that erases noise was just in the story he made up and nobody did anything bad with it, but if it was real, then you'd better watch out for people who want to erase, for example, your voice!
