Warning: Spoilers are unmarked on these pages. You Have Been Warned.

Kira's previous body of work consists of multiple horror games, and as such, Lunacid is not afraid to dabble in scaring the player.

  • The Temple of Silence. It starts with a long staircase going deeper into the earth, the area getting progressively darker as you go. Fortunately, the game gives you a torch right before the staircase that's hard to miss, so you equip it to see. Then you reach the Temple itself, and an ominous ambient song cues up. As you progress, you come across multiple seemingly dead bodies of monks with their heads hollowed out. None of them get up(yet). You progress uncontested, the torch your only light aside from some scattered torches lighting some rooms slightly. You even pick up a poisonous dagger along the way. Then you pull the switch to open the gates that have been restricting your access, and that's when the bodies (called Mummies) stand up. Fortunately, your torch can set them on fire, but it's not instant, and it doesn't make them any less terrifying to deal with.
  • The Accursed Tomb is ominous already with its claustrophobic environments, invisible enemies called Mi-Gos that have severe resistance to all but a few weapons(hope you bought and upgraded that rapier!), and a winding layout that you're very likely to get lost in, with or without the torch to light your way. But the worst part is the Mausoleum, because once you enter it, the music just stops. Utter silence, aside from the enemies. And then, after wandering around, fighting some enemies and picking up a few items, a message pops up saying "Death approaches", which is your cue to either use a Crystal Shard to warp back to the hub, or to haul ass out of there, lest you suffer the wrath of the Grim Reaper itself.
    • Death is no slouch either; it can Curse AND Bleed you if it lands a blow with its scythe, instantly kill you on contact with its body, and once it starts chasing you, the only things that will stop it are using the Crystal to warp out, or, if you're cursed and therefore can't use the crystal, booking it to the closest area door to leave the tomb entirely. It's for this reason that expeditions into the mausoleum are recommended to be done with Crystal Shards in hand so you can avoid even seeing Death.
  • The Sanguine Sea, which is already pretty eerie in that it's seemingly a massive lake of blood, contains an absolutely gigantic creature called the Jotunn; an invincible monster that, thankfully, is passive, but is likely to give any new player a hell of a scare when they see it.
