Tiga is the stage name of James Sontag (born September 18, 1974) who is a Canadian DJ and composer who had two major hits which include "Bugatti", "Far From Home" and his cover of "Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart.

He started out by releasing remixes in the early 2000s and released two major albums which were Sexor and Ciao. Sexor won the 2007 Juno Award. He is also the host of a podcast called "Last Party On Earth".

Not to be confused with the star of Ultraman Tiga- this Tiga is Canadian.note

As far as I go, as far as I know, I always got, a place called tropes!

  • Anatomically Impossible Sex: At the end of "Good As Gold" there is a short audio which is about a phone call between Tiga and another guy talking about an orgy with someone having "flexible skulls" in a sex act he witnessed.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: In the video for "Far From Home", when Tiga comes up with his chorus, there are different creatures that form musical notes on the powerlines. First, there are birds, then bats, then witches on broomsticks.
  • Car Song: "Bugatti"
  • Cover Song: His cover of Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night" with Zyntherius.
  • Concept Video: "Far From Home" is about Tiga struggling to write the chorus of his new song and leaving home to look for inspiration. Crows, bats, and witches all form notes on the power lines.
  • Double Entendre: "Pleasure from the Bass" is clearly about how he performs sexually.
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: His song "Blondes Have More Fun".
  • Hidden Track: "Flexible Skulls" subtly plays after "Good As Gold", but its not listed as a song.
  • List Song: His song "3 Rules".
"Rule 1 never dance with your hands up, Rule 1 never dance with your hands up, Rule 2 never touch your own dick, Rule 2 never touch your own dick, Rule 3 never fall in love with a Virgo, why?, Rule 3 never fall in love with a Virgo"
  • N-Word Privileges: In Pusha T's remix of "Bugatti" Tiga is the only one who refers to his friends as his "ninas" in the rap verses, and he is white.
  • Precision F-Strike: In "3 Rules", Tiga says this as one of his "rules." Tiga never swore in his music until this song.
"Rule 1 never fix your teeth if they're fucked up"
  • The Stinger: At the end of "Good as Gold", there is a phone call between Tiga and a guy talking about an impossible sex act. The track is titled "Flexible Skulls".
  • Word Salad Lyrics: "Far From Home" is about Tiga's daily life and hobbies but all nested with this chorus:
"As far as I go, as far as I know.
I always got a place called home
I cross all the seas, it's fine by me
Cause I'll never be, far from home."
