The Hypnoflip Invasion is the third album by French Alternative Hip Hop band Stupeflip. It is the first one to be released on Stupeflip's own label Etic Systems.

After a 7-year hiatus following the end of their contract and a sudden hiatus, the Crou is back. But in the narrative of Stupeflip's discography, it is dead. This is why this album contains songs recorded prior to the year 2999. We get to know more about La Menuiserie, the Crou's song machine, while Pop-Hip still writes Pop music and gets featured on mainstream radio.

This album provides examples of:

  • Album Title Drop: On the intro track.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: At the end of "Dark Warriors", King Ju whispers to the listener if they like the album.
  • Call-Back
    • "The album opens with the outro from "Ouest Region's Inquisitors", the final track from Stupeflip's previous album Stup Religion.
    • "Stupeflip Vite !!!" references lyrics from "Stup Monastère"
  • Cheap Costume: The music video for "Stupeflip Vite !!!" shows King Ju dressed in a similar way to The Teutonic Knights from Alexander Nevsky, except it is built with aluminum foil.
  • Continuity Nod
    • The album starts with the looped outro from Stupeflip's previous album.
    • French singer Mylène Farmer is mentionned for the third time in Stupeflip's discography on the track "Lettre à Mylène".
    • The introductory speech of Stupeflip by Fabien Polet reappears at the end of "Le Coeur qui Cogne".
    • This is the third album by Stupeflip where the last track is also the longest one.
  • Dedication
    • "Hater's Killah" is dedicated to "all the internet-addicted, racist, cowardly pathetic edgelords who are hidden behind their computer".
    • "Cold World", the hidden track of "Région Est", is dedicated to someone named Pascale.
  • Epic Rocking: If we take into account the presence of "Cold World" as a hidden track, "Région Est" lasts 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Face on the Cover
  • Fading into the Next Song: "Intro" ends with part of the opening lyrics of "Stupeflip Vite !!!".
  • Fake Radio Show Album: Downplayed as we get to hear Stupeflip's radio station 72.8 on three tracks.
  • Hidden Track: "Région Est" contains the song "Cold World".
  • Kids Are Cruel: "Le Spleen Des Petits" mainly talks about school bullying and how it affected King Ju.
  • Limited Lyrics Song
    • "Dark Warriors"
    People are ridiculous (x11)
    • "Cold World"
    ''It's a cold world"
I close my eyes in the morning light
  • Location Song: "La Menuiserie" (the name for where the Crou's music is made) and "Région Est".
  • Longest Song Goes Last: "Région Est" lasts 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Misogyny Song: "Gem Lé Moch" talks about how ugly women are easy to date and "Ce Petit Blouson en Daim" is about a guy who objectifies a woman as a piece of clothing.
  • Mrs. Robinson: The titular character of "Gaëlle" is depicted as such:
You're soon 47, but you at least excite me
  • Multilingual Song: "Apocalypse 894" features French rapped lyrics and English sung lyrics.
  • One-Woman Song: "Gaëlle" and "Psycho Girl".
  • One-Word Title: "Invasion", "Gaëlle", and "Dangereux !!!"
  • Product Placement:
    • "Le Spleen des Petits" mentions the Chocorêve chocolate brand.
    • On "Gem Lé Moch"
      • The yoghurt brand Danacol is mentionned when King Ju talks about fat women who don't care about diets.
    • King Ju refers to his Mac computer as his best friend on "Apocalypse 894".
    • King Ju is ready to turn people's brains into flans of the Alsa brand with his Tweedee pencil on "Région Est".
  • Quarreling Song: "Le Coeur qui Cogne" is about a wife who is bored of his loser husband and wants something sensual in their relationship.
  • Rearrange the Song: "Gaëlle" is about a 47-year old woman, but when King Ju performed the song live at a radio show, he mentions that she's 21 years old.
  • Sampling
    • "Stupeflip Vite !!!" samples Carl Maria von Weber's "Der Freischütz".
    • A short bit of "C'est comme ça" by Les Rita Mitsouko is heard at the end of "La Menuiserie".
  • Shout-Out: See the dedicated page.
  • Special Guest: "Le Coeur qui Cogne" and "Psycho Girl" feature a singer named "Loulou". King Ju doesn't want to reveal who it actually is.
  • Take That!:
    • The chorus of "Stupeflip Vite !!!" mentions that the FNAC stores are where copies of Stupeflip albums get burned (this is a reference to the time where the band sued their label for not promoting their second album Stup Religion).
    • On "Apocalypse 894", King Ju believes he is sincere, unlike the MEDEF, a French employer federation.
  • Xtreme Kool Letterz:
    • "Hater's Killah".
    • "Gem Lé Moch" is the badly written version of "J'aime les moches" note .
