Go To

David Anthony, the Foxy Bardnote  (real name David Mikofsky) is a musician and Youtuber who often performs as a variety of costumed characters, each with a different musical style. He and his accompanist Twig are frequent performers at Renaissance Fairs and similar events.

His work contains examples of:

  • Battle Rapping: "Epic Verse Battles of Sterling" features Rabbi Shmuel and a Christian Puritan woman performing a "disputation" to determine whose religion is right — all in the form of a rap battle.
  • Historical Domain Character:
  • Nice Jewish Boy: Dovid Mordachai is described as "the only roommate [persona] that will not bring shame to his mother" and "a good Jewish boy."
  • Omniglot: He claims he can sing in over 40 languages (though he doesn't actually speak all of them fluently). So far, he's done English, Spanish, German, Yiddish, Ladino, Hebrew, Irish, Mandarin, Dutch, Italian, Greek, Latin, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese, Catalan, Finnish, Polish, Occitan, French, Danish, Middle English, Norwegian, Arabic, Swahili, Scots, Esperanto, Dovah, and Klingon. There's a playlist of "Pick a Language" videos where fans comment a language on his videos and he has to perform something in it.
  • Pirate Song: Sea shanties and the like are usually sung by William Morningwood, the Bard's pirate persona.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: "What the Hell are Kitniyot" is all about how it's unreasonable to keep adding things to the list of kitniyotnote , starting with quinoa. At the end, he actually tries quinoa and hates it.
Dovid: Ugh, this tastes like dreck! Make it kitniyot for all I care.
