Sheila on 7 is an Indonesian Pop Rock band based in Yogyakarta. Founded in 1996 under the name Sheilagank, the band got contracted by Sony Music Indonesia in 1998 and released their first, self-titled album a year later. At that point, the band adopted the name Sheila on 7, with "on 7" referring to the seven musical notes, while Sheilagank became their fanbase name.
The band's popularity was catapulted by their second single, "Dan", which helped their debut album sold over 1 million copies. Their next two albums also sold over 1 million copies, obviously no small feat.
After roughtly a decade and a half recording under Sony, Sheila on 7 went indie after the release of Musim yang Baik in 2014 and founded their own label 507 Records.

- Bouquet Toss: The music video of "Lapang Dada" is centered around a wedding so the bride naturally throws a bouquet. The guy who catches it happens to be someone whose proposal she rejected. Fortunately, just like the song's title, he accepts his loss.
- Friendship Song: "Sahabat Sejati"note is about the singer reminding his friend(s) about their bonds and best days together.
- One-Word Title: "Kita", "Dan".
- Reveal Shot: After the Bouquet Toss in "Lapang Dada" music video, the bride turns around and the camera pans to show the person behind her who catches the bouquet: her friend whose proposal she rejected.
- Self-Titled Album: Their first album is titled Sheila on 7, although it's also titled Anugerah Terindah (after one of its tracks) for Malaysia and Singapore release.
- Title Track: Pejantan Tangguh and Musim yang Baik have a song named the same as their title.
