Pakito is the stage name of Julien Ranouil, who is a French DJ and music producer who is known for his cover of Living on Video which has charted in Europe.

Tropes in Pakito‘s music include:

  • Broken Record: "Are U Ready?" contains a female computer voice saying the title of the song over and over.
    • In "Living on Video" a chorus of men do karate shouts that go "Heeeeey! HOAH!" which plays at every other beat in the song.
  • Man in the Machine: In the video for “Moving on Stereo” there is a giant head of a woman who sings the chorus.
  • Medium Blending: The video for "Are U Ready?" contains CGI and animated pictures that engulf the audience and dancers.
  • One-Word Vocabulary: In “Moving on Stereo", the only thing the female singer shouts is “I’ve got inside me!” in different ways.
  • Sampling: The song “Living on Video” was originally created by Trans-X. Only this version is in a slightly different key.
  • Sultry Belly Dancer: In the “Moving on Stereo” video we see a woman dancing with lasers and she is wearing a crop top. Her belly is visible when she dances.
  • Surreal Music Video
    • The video for "Living on Video" contains mostly dancing televisions with legs, and lips that rotate with mirrored versions of the same footage.
    • The video for "Are U Ready" is overwhelming as there are motion graphics all over the place. There are stars and moving pictures that flash all over the audience and female dancers at a Pakito concert.
