Stop! Living on video.

Trans-X is a Canadian synthpop group consisting of Pascal Languirand as the only permanent member. There are different people who tour with him and band members who came and left.

They are known for their song “Living on Video” which charted worldwide. The song also was sampled by musicians throughout time.

Tropes in Trans-X include:

  • Gratuitous French: Since they’re from Quebec, which is more French-influenced than other parts of Canada, in the chorus for “Living on Video” they say “Sur un faisceau de lumière”.
    • Also in the song “21st Century” they say “Nous sommes les conspirateurs de l'an 2000 C'est seulement l'amour qui guide notre force”
  • Gratuitous German: The song “Ich Liebe Dich (I Love You)” though most of the lyrics are in English, contains this German sentence as part of the chorus.
  • Translated Cover Version: There is a French version of “Living on Video”, which is “Vivre Sur Video”.
