tropes in red:

  • all lowercase letters: Her stage name is stylized in lowercase, and her album and all of her songs are also lowercase.
  • Bedroom Pop: Some of her music is bedroom pop. She got her start releasing music on SoundCloud that she wrote in her bedroom.
  • Bittersweet Ending: "Too Much" reflects on an emotionally disconnected relationship that causes more dissatisfaction than happiness for the singer, yet ends with them, for better and worse, continuing to try for the relationship.
  • Gayngst: Many of her songs focus on angst related to being a lesbian.
  • Incompatible Orientation: "i wanna be your girlfriend" is about falling in love with a straight friend.
  • Indie Pop: Most of the music she writes is categorized as indie pop, and she isn't part of a major label.
  • Intercourse with You: "bad idea!" is about having sex with someone and instantly regretting it.
  • Lady in Red: While her stage name implies such imagery and she often wears red, this is ultimately averted, as she doesn't fit the trope.
  • Sexy Packaging: The cover for the single "bad idea!" is a woman taking off her shirt, exposing her breasts.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: As the singer grows more desperate in 'i wanna be your girlfriend," she declares her desire to be Hana's "bitch," emphasizing the pain of her unrequited love more strongly.
