"I feel shipwrecked, I might as well be shipwrecked."
Calling all stations,
Can anybody tell me, tell me exactly where I am?
I've lost all sense of direction,
Watching the darkness closing around me.

...Calling All Stations... is the fifteenth and final album by Genesis, released on 1 September 1997 by Virgin Records.

Within a few years in hiatus, Collins officially left the band to focus on his solo career, leading Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford to seek a replacement while writing new songs in 1996. After auditioning various candidates, they named Stiltskin frontman Ray Wilson as the replacement, an announcement made official to the public in June 1997.

Alongside Israeli session drummer Nir Zidkyahu and Spock's Beard drummer Nick D'Virgilio, the band made their recording sessions in the first half of 1997 before releasing the album to the public later in the year. After a promising No. 2 debut in the UK, sales dropped off quickly afterwards, and while sales in Europe were merely modest, reaching as high as gold certification in some major markets within, sales in America were catastrophically bad, being the first Genesis album in two decades with neither a charting single nor a Billboard top 50 debutnote . Additionally, that No. 2 British debut was the highest it ever reached, thereby becoming Genesis' first album since ...And Then There Were Three... to miss the top position on the UK Albums chart.

Genesis toured in 1998 throughout Europe to promote the album, but the American leg had been cancelled due to low album and ticket sales. At the conclusion of the tour in 2000, the group disbanded, and regrouped only twice since then as a touring group with Phil Collins.
