Initially used to indicate his delusion, then becomes genuinely heroic in both the film(s) and the Defictionalization series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. In a memetic context, it's often used to describe something that takes a very long time or goes very far.
• YOU! ARE! A! TOYYYYY!^ExplanationWoody attempts to break Buzz's delusion after being pushed well past the brink of tolerance. It doesn't work... This scene caught on, possibly due to its hamminess, which made it used in various videos.
  • You are a ______'s plaything! ^ExplanationA line Woody says after the above, originally "a child's plaything" with child substituted for anything else.
  • ...You are a sad, strange little man. And you have my pity. Farewell! ^ExplanationBuzz ends the conversation containing the quotes above with this line; often used to show disappointment.
  • "YOU-!" ^ExplanationAn earlier moment in the scene where Woody angrily turns to Buzz when his unnecessary fight costed them their chance to reunite with Andy at the gas station. It has since been used as a reaction video when people find a content creator responsible for any image, video or audio that has since spun out of control and into infamy.
  • The scene also gets recently parodied in terms of Twitter media discourses, regarding f.e. video games music and how both Buzz and Woody have different tastes.
• "I don't believe that man has ever been to medical school." ^Explanation Buzz's astute observation while Sid performs a "double bypass brain transplant" on his sister's doll and a toy pterosaur. Generally used in response to bad medical advice.
• "So play NICE."^ExplanationWoody gives Sid a lesson he will never forget.
• This isn't flying. This is falling with style!^ExplanationBuzz gives Woody this wonderful Ironic Echo near the end of the first film. Often used to any kind of flight where whatever is flying is dropping, or instances of falling labeled as "flight".
• WHERE IS YOUR HONOR, DIRTBAG? YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!^ExplanationSarge yells this at Woody in the first film when the toys think Woody deliberately pushed Buzz out the window. It's sometimes used to show disapproval or in response to any Drill Sergeant Nasty or soldier characters.
• Move out of the way, children, I've been waiting 11 years to see Toy Story 3.^ExplanationThere was an eleven year gap between Toy Story 2 and 3, thus many fans who first saw the original two movies as children were adults when the third was released.
• X. X everywhere.^ExplanationA famous, often traced image macro using a screencap of Toy Story 2 where Woody is looking on worriedly and Buzz has his arm around his shoulder and the other spread out. Uses the scene where Buzz talks about "delicious hot 'schmoes'"... out of context.
• In just a few hours you'll be sitting around a campfire with Andy making delicious hot schmoes." ^ExplanationThis exchange has served the basis for the above "X, X everywhere" meme.

• There seems to be no sign of intelligent life anywhere.^ExplanationSaid when Buzz first comes to life as part of his delusion; often used to describe places or groups people hate, the Internet, political parties, celebrities, and modern society itself being common targets. Sometimes shared for irony, due to the animation played as he says the line being his eyelids closing at different times, giving him a derpy appearance.
• Nice ascot.^ExplanationA line said by Barbie in the third film, which is known for its Parental Bonus and Last-Second Word Swap.
• THERE'S A SNAKE IN MAH BOOT!^ExplanationOne of Woody's pull string catchphrases. It's one of the phrases that's most associated with him, so expect it to be quoted whenever he is mentioned.
  • SOMEBODY'S POISONED THE WATER HOLE! ^ExplanationAnother one of Woody's pull string catchphrases, which isn't as quoted to the extent of the above, but still sees some usage.
• Watch out for the monkey.^ExplanationOne of Lotso's henchmen in Toy Story 3 is a Cymbal-Banging Monkey who monitors Sunnyside via security cameras, memorable for the Nightmare Fuel caused by its appearance and screech. This line is used to introduce him.
• LOOK, I'M WOODY! HOWDYHOWDYHOWDY!^ExplanationThe scene following the "Strange Things" montage has Woody's hat worn by a rubber shark who says this line in a goofy manner. The scene has been parodied with other characters, with one character parodying another character from the series and saying a variation of the line.
• Woody's unusual face◊ from a Japanese figurine, which has been perceived as being rather creepy to the point it's the page image for Memetic Molester.
• "I am Mrs! Nesbitt! (Insane laughter)."^ExplanationFollowing his crash in the first film, Buzz enters a Heroic BSoD and utters this when Woody tries to rescue him from a tea party held by Sid's sister. It's quoted whenever something can be seen as a connection to the scene, such as a toy with a broken arm or someone drinking tea.
• BUZZ LOOK AN ALIEN!!^ExplanationA famous scene from the first movie where Woody mocks Buzz. It's popular for video remixes, especially YTPMVs. Other times, an actual alien will be shown after Buzz says "Where!?".
  • "BAAH!!"^ExplanationWoody's laughter after tricking Buzz by itself is very memetic sound effect that's used for just about anything, especially to (as in the original movie) make fun of someone or as a sarcastic reaction to a hilariously unfunny and/or outdated joke.
• "We're not aiming for the truck."^ExplanationThe line from the first movie during the final scene where Woody and Buzz land in Andy's car. Often the target is switched out for something more humorous.
• "Byeeee, Wooooody!!!"^ExplanationThe nightmare sequence from Toy Story 2 has Andy say this as he puts Woody in a trash can with a bunch of hands.
  • "I don't wanna play with you any more."^ExplanationFrom the same scene, when Andy realises Woody is damaged and drops him to the floor. Became a reaction when something falls out of favor. Gamers in particular have like to use it when a new game in a series is announced.
• "So long, partner."^ExplanationWoody's final line in Toy Story 3, which is often used as a way to say goodbye to things, both sincerely and ironically.
• "To Infinity And YOUR MOM!"^ExplanationA line in the Toy Story 4 teaser, which became popular with the fans.
• "I'm trash!"^ExplanationForky says this line in the Toy Story 4. It's quickly become very popular for many to consider Forky relatable because of Self-Deprecation.
  • "Why am I alive?"^ExplanationAnother Forky line that quickly became memetic, with some fans considering Forky to be very relatable.
• In a way, the fourth film extends the pre-existing "Never travel with Tom Hanks" meme.
• When 4 was released, jokes saying that Andy is going to come back and beat up Bonnie for neglecting and losing Woody arose.
  • “BONNIE, YOU HAD ONE JOB!” ^ExplanationA common response to Bonnie doing the above, which is derived from the pre-existing "you had one job" meme.
• When the fourth film's toyline included figures of Forky at the same price as the others, many pointed out that making your own Forky with the materials he's actually created with in the film would clearly be cheaper and more screen accurate.
• ytp sexer^ExplanationA YouTube Poop video by SPIGOTTAN infamous for its poor quality, even by the Stylistic Suck standards of the genre. In July 2018, the video suddenly picked up an ironic fan following, leading to it becoming a popular source for parodies, remixes, and recreations.
• This Game Mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, replacing Wolf with Woody of all people. A clip of Woody performing a Shinobi Execution on antagonist Genichiro went viral on Twitter soon after it was released, racking up over five million views.
• ANDY'S COMING!!!! ^ExplanationA phrase used by the toys when they hear Andy nearby, which makes them drop down and freeze. In real life, whenever someone shouts "Andy's coming!", people (usually dressed as Toy Story characters) will play along and fall to the floor.
• "You uncultured swine!" ^ExplanationEarly on, Mr. Potato Head calls Hamm an uncultured swine for not getting his Picasso imitation. "Uncultured swine" is commonly used as a insult to people who don't understand a reference or the context of something.
  • Mais c'est de l'art, gros lard!^ExplanationThis is the French version of that line (directly translates to "But it's art, fatso!"), and is one of the more quotable lines among the French fandom.
• Years of academy training, wasted!^ExplanationBuzz says this in the first film while stuck at Sid's house, still in his Nesbitt outfit. It's often used to point out wasted time.
• hmm yes the floor here is made out of floor^ExplanationAn edit of Buzz looking at Andy's bed with a comically long neck while saying the phrase. Used to denote an obvious or tautological statement.
• In early 2019, a meme of Al looking smug and talking to someone at the garage sale has been used to mock people with excessively strong or nerdy opinions.
• "You can't rush art!" from 2 is a popular phrase used by the fandom to describe certain films or video games.
• "Endgame spoilers without context!" became quite popular to describe the second film after the 2019 release of Avengers: Endgame. This is primarily due to the Buzz vs. Buzz fight being compared to Captain America vs. Captain America—and it's made Hilarious in Hindsight due to Cap himself voicing Buzz in Lightyear.
• "I can't believe I have to drive all the way to work on a Saturday. ALL THE WAY TO WORK!" ^ExplanationA clip from 2 of Al complaining about his "far" drive to work when it's literally right across the street, as he violates about five traffic laws in the process. Became popular when a Twitter account that would automatically tweet this every Saturday gained traction.
• "Don't count on it? Aww!" ^Explanation The scene where Woody uses a Magic 8 ball to see if Andy will take him to Pizza Planet. It became a meme after Freeform placed a banner mocking the cancellation of Shadowhunters during this scene on a Pop Up Video-style airing of the movie.
• "It came! It finally came! The big one!" ^ExplanationSid says this when receiving the rocket he bought to destroy some toys in the mail. This soundbyte is often used in TikToks of people opening packages.
• The aisle of identical Buzz Lightyears has become used to parody people with like-minded opinions, especially on Reddit. There’s even recently a time when subreddits like r/whenthe was overcome by this meme format for commonly-used tropes and they’re even sometimes said to relate to TV Tropes itself.
  • This led to memes parodying the format's own overuse, with captions such as "I'm going to use the Buzz Lightyear clone format" and "This story has characters".
• Similarly, Combat Carl speaking to Jessie in Toy Story of Terror has become applicable to people struggling with the trials and tribulations of adult life.

• "Calm down Woody, we're your friends" "Shut up Buzz, I'll kill you" ^ExplanationA clip from Aaron Fraser-Nash's horror parody song that has been mocked for trying way too hard to be dark and edgy. It has also become common to mash it up with other songs, the most popular examples being some of The Living Tombstone's songs (ex. Die in a Fire).
• "Don't do it, X! We love yooouuu!" ^ExplanationThis line from 2 (originally said by Rex to Woody) is a popular meme template for when a character in a movie or TV show is about to do a Heroic Sacrifice.
