Go To

Bloodline: The Last Royal Vampire, also known as just Bloodline, is a Vampire Fiction Manhua made by Ai Ou.

Lilo I is the last descendant of the Dark Elder vampire clans with the power of Bloodline, the special power that turns humans into other Royal Vampires. Humans can easily gain such powers by writing an envelope with three large 6's and final wish inside. But it's important to not abuse them or otherwise the deal is off and the dealers would be eaten instead. They are hunted by the Church Militant organization known as the Holy Land (圣地 or "Shengdi").

Three years ago, Lilo had a dream of living a human life one birthday after living for nearly 500 years and her father hoped to make such a thing happen. Too bad such a dream is becoming hard to realize, especially when the Holy Land intervene and Last disappears along with her friends and servants.

Cue the present day, Lilo wanders alone with her companions missing. She encounters the young vampire hunter wannabe Ren and Cute Ghost Girl Rae, who suffer a fatal encounter with the Holy Land forces. Lilo saves and recruits Ren as a Royal Vampire, who joins him in an effort to see his older sister again. Tired of running and determined to find her father and her place in society, she and her new allies take the fight to the Holy Land.

The series is written by Ai Ou (artist/author of Infinity Game) and drawn by Su. Initially, they were made as a short story composed of two volumes. Two additional volumes were made to continued the story before it was made into a mainstream manhua with the protagonist Ren. It was out in hiatus after 107 chapters, which had its story continue via the mobile game app.

Troper Disclosure: All of the works are in Chinese. Tropes may be missing or inaccurate.

Tropes include:

  • Above Good and Evil: The main reason why Dark Tower is considered neutral territory to both the Holy Land and demonic forces.
  • Magic Knight: Many characters from vampires to the Holy Land.
  • Meaningful Name: Several Holy Land nuns have names pronounced like their given numbers (I.e. Ling Can is 03, Ling Er is #02, etc.)
  • Mythology Gag: Otaki / Long Wei shares the same name and character design as that from another one of Ai Ou's works.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: They follow most stereotypes about vampires in regards to weaknesses. But the only big difference is that they're not actually evil. In this series, the Holy Land are the real villains.
  • Power Limiter: Pep has cuffs to keep him from using his Psyblade.
  • Product Placement: A number of products in real life are found in the series. Even 03 listens to an iPod.
  • Stripperiffic: Not in the manhua, but the coming card game will have many new characters coming with these outfits. And that goes for both the Holy Land and their enemies.
  • Time Skip: The prequels to Bloodline exist about three years before the current series.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In the card game, many characters come back, have upgrades, or both. One notable example is Leah, who once was just a Cute Ghost Girl and Sacrificial Lion is now capable of fighting with sound-based attacks.
  • The Unpronouncable: Calling Your Attacks results in having strange sayings for used abilities. However, one could figure out the names by finding patterns. If not, then translate the Chinese writing.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Lilo's family like any kind of food that's red- tomatoes and watermelon- even if they're unable to eat it.
  • Villains Out Shopping: The Holy Land eat publicly in their uniforms at a KFC.
