Because of a frightening experience three years ago, the boy Sata Senda became a compulsive cleanliness freak. As he has anti-bacterial spray and mask as standard equipment and doesn’t allow any form of close contact, he has no friends… Thus came the summer of sixth grade. Sata, who has been half forced to participate in the school trip, arrives to the meeting place completely wrapped in a protective suit?!
Following the adventure of aforementioned Sata Senda and his adventure facing the hardship of life due to his OCD (according to him at least), slowly gathering a clique by sheer coincidence but not without (unwilling) effort. Needless to say, Played for Laughs
This manga provides examples of:
- The Ace: Sata himself, only because his lack of social life though, so he put effort in everything else.
- Miyako Natsu as well, if more outgoing and normal.
- Armor-Piercing Question: Yumeno asked Sata why he loved Aiuchi when he flat out rejected her.
- Because You Were Nice to Me: How Sata and Aiuchi's relationship develops.
- Likewise, Yumeno is serious for Sata because of this trope.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Aiuchi, just Aiuchi. Sata is not exactly nice per se, but he’s really a kindhearted person, and you still don’t want to see him angry.
- Catapult Nightmare: Sata experiences this at the start of chapter 3, because of dehydration.
- Censor Box: Parodied in chapter 10.
- Character Development: Surprisingly plenty, often hidden under the gags and hijinks.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Yumeno, Aiuchi too.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Sata per chapter 9.
- Drama Queen: How Sata reacts to his OCD most of the time. Case in point: when a classmate touched his table, he cried "It's been defiled".
- Everyone Can See It: Regarding Sata’s weakness to Aiuchi.
- Gone Horribly Wrong: Aiuchi’s first attempt to "cure" Sata ended up with him meeting the same guy traumatized him… and probably his little brother, in the same vein as before.
- Good Bad Girl: Yumeno is a serial dater, but considering the treatment she received, one cannot blame it solely on her.
- Hazmat Suit: Sata's seen with it twice. It’s surprisingly fragile to physical damage.
- Hidden Depths: Almost everyone in Sata's gang either appear as shallow people or socially inept, but they all have complex characterizations. They often hide it too well.
- Homoerotic Subtext: Plenty from Yui and Kiriyuu (usually in regards to Sata).
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Sata himself, who tends to be blunt and egoistical, but really cares about people around him.
- Keet: Yui Anzai.
- To a lesser extent, Miyako as well.
- Lonely Together: How the clique formed, basically.
- Long-Distance Relationship: Aiuchi left shortly after they graduated elementary, but they stay loyal to each other.
- Missing Mom: Yui’s Mom disappears while working overseas.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Aiuchi. Subverted in that she does have her own life, problems and demands rather than just being a shallow, bubbly and cheerful airhead that simply barges into Sata's life without clear reason.
- Narm: In-Universe reaction from everyone to Sata's antic is either boredom or laughs.
- Operation: Jealousy: Done by Miyako to force Sata to admit that he and Aiuchi is most definitely not Just Friends.
- Plucky Girl: Exaggerated with Aiuchi, but even she has her limits.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: When Sata heard Yazaki badmouthed Aiuchi, the result wasn’t pretty.
- Satellite Love Interest: Yazaki lost his crush on Aiuchi as soon as he found her wasn’t as perfect as he imagined, and being a jerk about it, leading to the above trope. A lot of people who dated Yumeno all saw her as merely a beautiful accessory. Averted with Aiuchi herself in regards to Sata.
- Security Blanket: Yui’s trenchcoat, revealed to be his mom’s last gift until her trace disappear when working in a country full of conflict.
- Shrinking Violet: Sotsugu Kiriyuu, male example.
- Status Quo Is God: Subverted; Sata never recovers from the OCD completely, but he overcomes it when needed, and slowly grew less and less dramatic about it.
- Stern Teacher: Sata's elementary school's homeroom teacher acted like he’s a cold-ass all the time, but considering who he deals with...
- The Power of Friendship and The Power of Love: Things that can make Sata override his OCD.
- Yandere: Aiuchi can and does hurt anyone she think bothering Sata or their relationship. Without the typical Yandere face, makes it all the scarier...
- Likewise, she can and did force Sata out of his OCD-induced angst while smiling... tearing his makeshift isolation mask and thrashing other implements in the process...
