The Stolen Heir Duology is a Young Adult fantasy series written by Holly Black. It is the sequel to The Folk of the Air and takes place eight years later.

Suren, the queen of the Court of Teeth has been living in the woods away from the Faerie politics since the events of the previous series. This all changes when Prince Oak shows up and asks her to join him on a quest to the former Court of Teeth to defeat her mother Lady Nore who started a rebellion against the crown after getting her hands on a powerful weapon. Suren joins the quest, but she can't shake the feeling that Oak is hiding something.

The duology consists of:

  1. The Stolen Heir (2023)
  2. The Prisoner's Throne (2024)

This series provides examples of:

  • Big Sister Instinct: Jude is very protective over her little brother. When she finds out Wren threw him in prison, she immediately sent her full army and tried to assassinate Wren.
  • Fantastic Racism: Many Faeries still object to Jude being High Queen, because she's a mortal.
  • Rebel Prince: Oak hates being heir to the throne and hopes that Jude and Cardan will have a child and make them the heir.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Oak pretends to be a naive, spoiled prince who only cares about parties and girl, but in reality he's quite competent at politics and scheming.
