"This is Dusk Golem, aka AestheticGamer, and this is TVTropes."

AestheticGamer is a Let's Player on YouTube, with blind playthrough videos that mostly follow games of the horror or scary genre.

AestheticGamer's videos mostly involve his commentary while playing through the game, being very thorough in looking through every nook and cranny. Because of his tendency to not get scared easily, his videos are enjoyable to watch because of their lack of incessant screaming and his deep voice can be very relaxing.

     List of Let's Plays

AestheticGamer Videos Contain Examples Of

  • Cheshire Cat Grin: As part of his profile picture.
  • Crazy Enough to Work His thought processes can turn out to appear insane, but correct. In Scratches, his first idea to enter the sealed-off nursery is to climb in through the window from the floor above. He's surprised himself when he realizes that he's right.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Noticeable in the Deadly Premonition videos, where the car driving on two wheels is quite common.
  • Dull Surprise: Has this reaction several times in the various games, especially during supposedly scary parts. His reaction in Calling to the scissor ghost is a mere three-word sentence.
    AestheticGamer: That is unfortunate.
  • Genre Savvy: He's overall very good at predicting things in horror games, because he has played them so much. Doesn't mean he can't get surprised.
AestheticGamer: (playing Dead Secret) Now, is this the part where I turn around and realize there's something behind me?
Turns around and sees the Oni-mask wearer
    AestheticGamer: Wah!
  • Gosh Darn It to Heck!: His general swearing is mostly in the region of 'Dang it'.
  • Guide Dang It!: Sometimes finds himself stuck in the games, because of minor things he hasn't done. In Scratches, he was incapable of advancing, until he accidentally tried the lightswitch in his room and realizing the electricity isn't working.
  • Nerves of Steel: He's barely ever scared, so most of the horror in the games doesn't strike him that much. When he does get scared, it generally means something bad did jump out at him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Actually chickens out and gets positively scared during his original, unfinished playthrough of White Day: Labyrinth called School.
  • Orphaned Series: Had to leave his Fatal Frame IV playthrough unfinished, because the software used to allow his Wii to play games from different regions got corrupted.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Contrary to his danging it, he is not above letting off some good swearing.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: Pulls one during the battle against possessed Kirie during Fatal Frame.
AestheticGamer: Smile for the camera, bitch!
  • Too Dumb to Live: While trying to banish the assassin spirit in DreadOut: Keepers of the Dark, his third death at the hand of the ghost came about through this. He was approaching where he had encountered the spirit before, saw something for a split second and, instead of grabbing the camera and snapping a picture, AestheticGamer just kept moving and was slashed again.
  • Try Everywhere: This is his modus operandi in Scratches, when he needs to dig up Catherine Blackwood's corpse. He first tries the general area at random, before resorting to a picture guide and tries to follow that... before realizing he probably didn't do something, since the picture contains a shadow his game lacks at the time and giving up for now.
