Avatar: The Last Airbender / The Legend of Korra

  • Field of Innocence: It's mentioned that General How killed Lu Ten's mother, Colonel Kei Rin, by impaling her through the chest with a huge spike of rock. Ouch.

Crossover

  • All For Luz:
    • In chapter 1, All Might's injury was caused by All For One's Spearlike Bone in their Final Battle.
    • In chapter 10, while trying to warn her other teammates they're under attack, Julia meets her end like this at the hands of Darlene's Spear Fingers Quirk In the Back. She later does this to Luz but not only does she power through it thanks to her Repair Quirk but steals it from Darlene before killing her and uses the power to kill some of the enemy's team members.
    • In chapter 20, this is how Sophia meets her end by Luz's hands with Spear Fingers enhanced by Multiplier Quirk through her vitals, including her neck, her heart, her lungs, her legs and her arms. All the things a person needs to live.
    • In chapter 23, as her fight with the Golden Guard continues, Luz at one point gets skewered by Hunter's light spears but heals from it thanks to her Healing Factor and carries on battling.
    • In chapter 25, Toshiko responses to Gilbert attempted assault on her by giving him a does of this with her Spear Fingers faster than the witch father could react. His injuries include a stabbed shoulder, stomach, right eye, left knee, and right through his fist. Luckily for him, Toshiko decides to show mercy and and use her Healing Hands Quirk to restore him to full health.
    • In chapter 27, King uses his Ice Magic to summon several icicle spears from the ground to skewer Toshiko in their fight. But thanks to her "Super Regeneration" "Pain Nullification" Quirks, this barely slows the girl down.
    • During the Ten-Year War on the Boiling Isles, Raine apparently took a spear to the chest by one of All For One's henchmen, which was thought to have gone through their heart and killed them. Its later revealed they survived the attack.
  • Child of the Storm:
    • This happens to Harry on a distressingly regular basis: he gets skewered by HYDRA's shapeshifting Destroyer replica under Zemo's control, then he gets stabbed by Daken, before, in the sequel, he gets this from Magneto when he's a Blank Slate as the Red Son - and blasted with a gigantic lightning bolt - and then through his shoulder by Dracula (with his own sword, no less), before, again, he gets walloped by a giant lightning bolt.
    • Daken gets Pinned to the Wall by Harry in their rematch.
    • Gambit gets skewered through the shoulder with half of his own bo staff by the Beast a.k.a. the Blob a.k.a. Dudley Dursley.
    • In Harry's vision of the past in the sequel, showing the final battle between Bor and Malekith, the former ends up skewering the latter on his spear, purging him of the Aether a.k.a. the Reality Stone in the process, but Malekith vanishes in the ensuing explosion and they Never Found the Body.
  • Fate of the Clans (Fate Series & K):
    • Mordred uses Clarent to stab Chiron through the spirit core.
    • Okada fatally wounds Kiyohime by stabbing her through the back and damaging her spirit core.
    • An unknown number of U-ranks from JUNGLE get this treatment courtesy of Okada.
    • Cú Chulainn kills Okada by impaling him through the spirit core with his spear so hard that his hand also comes out of Okada's back.
    • Cú Chulainn Alter kills Jeanne with the first version of his Noble Phantasm, which impales her spirit core through the front of her chest and out her back.
    • Cú Chulainn Alter ends up killing Nagare by stabbing his "heart" through the back and out his chest.
    • The first version of Cú Chulainn's Noble Phantasm is made to impale him through the spirit core instead of Tamamo.
  • In The Good Hunter, Ancalagon threatens to impale a lord, Baron Fitzgerald Ludendorf, on one of the spires of her castle keep should the latter speak up one more time in her presence. The next chapter has Cyril getting a glimpse of someone dying this way, the victim he identifies as a Ludendorf heir, implying that the lord did not escape his fate.
  • Infinity Crisis: The Red Skull is impaled through the chest by an American flagpole after receiving a beating from Captain America, Phil Coulson and Black Lightning.
  • A Non-lethal example in My Hero Academia: Unchained Predator: Wolfram, using the QAH, impales Miruko with multiple bars of sharpened rebar, leaving the poor heroine in agonizing pain and in critical condition. When Wolfram tries to finish the job, he learns that the Slayer is now pissed, and he was his next victim. The Slayer viciously gives Wolfram a mind-opening experience, before knocking Hawks out and taking Miruko to the nearest medical office.
  • Return of the Avengers (Marvel Cinematic Universe & Tolkien's Legendarium): After Sam Gamgee stops Malekith from telekinetically crushing Stark in his own armour by stabbing him in the back, Stark magnetises the armour to draw in all weapons and armour lying around the battlefield so that it flies towards Iron Man and impales Malekith, including Haldir's sword going straight through Malekith's head.
  • In Thousand Shinji, the last remaining MP-Eva manages to kill Asuka when it impales Unit-02 with its lance.
Reaching out with its remaining arm, Unit 02 tried to drag itself forward still, but the Lance impaling its guts had embedded in the ground. Unit 02 was pinned like a butterfly, and no amount of struggling was going to get it any further.
  • The Vampire of Steel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Supergirl): Buffy-In-Supergirl's-body slams Zol-Am into a stake with the impact of a moderate earthquake.
  • Voyages of the Wild Sea Horse: Nabiki Tendo is attacked from behind by a mutant insect with a sword-like bladed forelimb that it drives completely through her torso from left to right. Being that she just ate a Mythic Zoan Devil Fruit, her reaction is to give it an Offhand Backhand that smashes it into bloody kibble, then yank out the limb still lodged in her guts, with the wound healing in seconds.
  • Weight of the World (Hetalia: Axis Powers & RWBY): Qrow is speared through the spine while protecting Ruby from Atlas. He survives but loses the use of his legs.
  • Wonderful (Mazinja): When mass murderer Jack Slash threatened Taylor, her father Danny tackled him straight through a window. Both plummeted into the street below, and Jack was impaled through his chest by a piece of rebar.

Franchise/Danganronpa

  • Despair's Last Resort has this be how Arata Miyazki's execution plays out, with him getting continuously impaled with a giant sewing machine needle.

Digimon

  • In the Tamers Forever Series, Takeru is impaled through the chest by Daemon's claws (thankfully, he manages to survive).
    • Earlier on, Takato is impaled by Piedmon's Trump Swords technique.

Discworld

Creator/Disney

Final Fantasy

  • Epiphany: Sephiroth does this, of course, and Hojo is his unfortunate target, after the latter makes some ill-advised comments about seeing his and Aerith's offspring.

Glitch Techs

  • Glitched Miko AU: Miko gets stabbed through the chest by an unknown assailant. However since shes a Glitch she survives, and rather than a gore stained mess the area around the wound starts to de-res like poorly rendering graphics.

Godzilla / King Kong / MonsterVerse

  • Abraxas (Hrodvitnon): While battling the Many at Yonaguni in Chapter 13, Monster X gets impaled by the Many's bladed tail, the tail's tip jutting out through Monster X's abdomen. Since Monster X has advanced regenerative powers like Ghidorah's, they can (painfully) pull the tail out of their torso and lose some Alien Blood with no lasting damage.

Inuyasha

  • Darkness (ankh-ascendant): Sesshoumaru is first impaled with one of Naraku's diamond spears, which extends from one wall to the other to stop him pulling himself off. In a later incident, it's a dozen of them.

Marvel Comics

  • Devil's Diary: Magneto states he'll run iron spikes repeatedly through the body of whoever dares to read his private diary.
None will find the book, none will spring its lock. If anyone does, even if it is Wanda, I will pierce him (or her) through with the holy metal again and again.

My Hero Academia

  • Green Tea Rescue; Toga gets stabbed through the chest by Stain during the Hero Killer arc. Thanks to Todoroki using his ice to cool and clot the blood, she survives long enough to get proper medical treatment.
  • Oyasumi Midoriya: During the training camp attack, Muscular is tricked into backing off a cliff, leading to his death after being impaled on a burnt tree trunk.

My Little Pony

  • Inner Demons: When Apple Bloom tries to non-fatally stab Queen!Twilight, Trixie pushes her out of the way and ends up fatally run through.
  • Pony POV Series: During the Final Battle with first Big Bad Loneliness, she guts Twilight to try to stop her from freeing Trixie from her influence. Fortunately, since this all takes place in Trixie's mind, Twilight's wounds disappear when they wake back up.
  • Sleepless: This is Silver Spoon's final fate.
  • In Twilight's Rage, Twilight gives Tirek one straight stab through the chest with her lengthened horn, then blasts him open at point-blank range. She then impales Discord's throat and rips it out.

Naruto

Nasuverse

Persona 4

  • This is how Labrys defeats Shadow Yukiko in Persona 4 SILVER BLUE. She cripples its wings to prevent it from flying, then she impales it on one of her own castle’s pointy ornaments on the rooftops.

Pretty Cure

The Smurfs

  • Empath: The Luckiest Smurf: Judas Iscariot's fate, falling off a precipice headfirst unto a tree that impales him in the story "Smurfed Behind: The Passion Of The Smurfs", fulfilling what was said about him in Acts 1:18.

Star Wars

  • Important Information: Leia manages a lightsaber version of this. The Ch'thorian alien she's fighting got the upper hand and started strangling her with the species' prehensile hair, but she didn't see Leia reach for her dropped lightsaber and she ends up getting skewered with the beam.

Undertale

  • Underverse:
    • Happens to Xtale Frisk twice in quick succession, first by Cross's arm and then a giant knife, to finish him off.
    • X-Gaster seems to be a fan, using his hand-spikes:
      • In 0.4, he kills Underfell and Underswap Sans by stabbing them through the chest.
      • In Xtale II, he kills Xtale Asgore in order to upset Xtale Chara.

Unsorted

  • In Yognapped, Xephos gets run through with his own diamond blade. He lives, though. Until the airship he's pinned to crashes.
  • Methos gets skewered during Cold-Blooded Torture at least twice in the Highlander fic The Dragon and His Wrath, once by a sword and once by a trident. It is not pretty at all and there are guts spilling out. Joe and Duncan know he’ll heal but are still infuriated and disgusted by his suffering.
