Just get it over with and confess! How hard could it be!?

You know what happens when two girls with guns work together for too long.

Unmarked spoilers! You have been warned.

Chisato and Takina

  • The core of this series centers on the relationship between Takina and Chisato, with some fairly heavy lesbian undertones. In fanart found in Pixiv and Twitter, the relationship even has the Portmanteau Couple Name "ChisaTaki" (ちさたき).
    • The whole fountain sequence in the third episode between Chisato and Takina has this feeling. Some nearby Lycoris girls even lampshade it.
    • Episode 4:
      • Chisato is disappointed that Takina would wear men's boxers under her skirt, which leads into an ongoing joke with Takina demanding to see Chisato's underwear, and later Chisato trying on Takina's boxers.
      • Chisato starts teasing Takina's "interest" in her, with some choice comparisons in mind.
Chisato: "Why, 'you interested in me or what?"
Takina: "More than I am in seahorses."
Chisato: "More than a garden eel?"
    • Episode 5:
      • Takina learns that Chisato has an artificial heart and wants to feel Chisato's chest, which flusters Chisato. At the end of the episode, she lays her head down on Chisato's chest. It should be noted that in the first instance, Chisato only argued that Takina shouldn't touch her chest because they're in public, implying that she didn't have a problem with Takina groping her in general. True enough when later Takina argues it should be fine to lay her head on her chest since no one else is around, Chisato doesn't try to put up a fight though she does get a bit flustered.
      • In the same episode, when Takina shoves Silent Jin off a rooftop and the two fall into a construction zone (at least a 20-meter drop), Chisato screams Takina's name in absolute horror. She then rushes to Takina's rescue when Silent Jin is about to kill her.
    • In Episode 6, Chisato asks Takina if she's into boys. Takina doesn't give her a straight answer (no pun intended).
    • In Episode 7, while trying to get closer to Mika and Yoshimatsu to eavesdrop on them, Takina bumps her head into Chisato's ass.
    • In Episode 8, Chisato reacts with joy when Takina suggests the two live together again after Majima breaks into Chisato's safehouse. Takina also establishes a rule that if Chisato doesn't pick up a call from her after three rings, she'll assume Chisato is in trouble and will come running, no matter where she is. When Himegama drugs Chisato and begins tampering with her artificial heart, Takina drops everything and rushes over to save her partner when Chisato fails to answer her phone.
    • Episode 9:
      • Takina's anguished reactions to Chisato having only two months to live show just how much she cares for her partner, going as far as to accept reinstatement at DA just to have a slight chance of saving Chisato's life and taking her on a day off to have fun. She even instinctively thinks to hunt down and kill Himegama for sabotating Chisato's heart, but Chisato convinces her that it wouldn't accomplish anything if she did.
      • The last half of the episode may as well be 'Takina takes Chisato on a date.' The final scene especially rings a lot of bells that wouldn't be out of place in a love scene out of the final act of a JRPG, with the imagery built around just how close the two are. Takina specifically takes Chisato to a secluded park bench atop a hill at 9:00 PM on the dot because the weather forecast promised snow that evening. The entire conversation is framed as Takina expressing her feelings to Chisato and how she's apprehensive to rejoin the DA, having undergone a complete 180 from when the two first met, not unlike a woman confessing her interests for another. It even ends with the two sharing a tender, wistful look just as the snow begins to fall.
    • Episode 11:
      • Takina goes AWOL during a Lycoris op to help Chisato, despite being told that doing so would completely end her chances at returning to DA. Takina doesn't care; Chisato means more to her than her job. Later on, When Chisato is struggling to fight off Majima, she sees Shinji's phone ring three times, stop, then ring one additional time. Chisato realizes that this is a signal from Takina. Sure enough, one minute later, Takina busts into the Skytree and comes to Chisato's rescue.
      • The eyecatch ended up being changed for safety reasons, note  so they changed it to Chisato sniffing Takina's hair.
    • Episode 12:
      • Takina desperately tries to kill Shinji and Himegama in order to get the artificial heart (which Shinji had transplanted into his chest), but Chisato throws off her aim until she runs out of bullets. Takina is practically screaming at Chisato that she doesn't want her to die, only for Chisato to talk her down by claiming she could never live with herself if she got to survive at the cost of Shinji's life. Later, when Majima escapes and isolates Chisato from the others, Takina is screaming her name as they go down the elevator, unable to stop it.
      • There's the fact that Chisato came extremely close to breaking her Thou Shalt Not Kill policy by shooting Shinji, someone she's extremely grateful towards and who inspired her savior mindset, because he was attempting to shoot and kill Takina.
    • Episode 13:
      • Chisato and Takina recreate the fountain sequence in Episode 3, except this time, they fall into the ocean.
      • Perhaps unintentional, but the sunset and ocean scene has the same colors as the lesbian flag.
      • Chisato suggests she and Takina go to Hawaii. This doesn't seem like much, but then you remember that same-sex marriages are legal there, unlike Japan.
      • When they're in Hawaii, the two are wearing matching bracelets.
    • An official artwork released after the show’s run depicts Chisato and Takina in wedding gowns.

Other

  • The complex feelings between Erika and Takina is a minor subplot, with the former heavily fixated on the latter throughout the story.
    • What kickstarts the story is Takina killing the arms dealers that are holding Erika hostage, and she's ultimately fired due to disobeying orders and endangering the latter. However, Erika is thankful that she was saved because of her and doesn't act much differently from someone crushing on their saviour.
    • In Episode 3, Erika is guilt-ridden due to how her screw-up cost Takina her job. When another Lycoris fibs that Takina is nearby, though, Erika pipes up, as though happy to see her.
    • In Episode 11, when Sakura brings up how Erika couldn't possibly take Takina's place in their formation due to her past screw-up, Erika openly takes the blame for Takina's dismissal and hugs her.
