Even if several of the stories involve cruel twists, some of them still have genuinely heartwarming moments in them.
Even if they tend to not last very long...

  • The Truth About Yomi
    • When Nagisa travels into a world, where she is now 'Makoto' and encounters Yumi, she remembers how horrible she felt about being bullied and decides to stand up for Yumi multiple times, including cleaning her scribbled-on shoe and standing by Yumi's side, when she's told to bully her, too.
    • Yumi smiling at 'Makoto', before shoving her out the window. Horrible as it sounds, it was Yumi's way of getting her to safety, before causing the explosion that would kill Yumi and her bullies.
    • Nagisa realizing that the Makoto she was, was her new teacher-student Sugimoto, and both have become stronger now. Nagisa manages to talk back to her bullies and Sugimoto doesn't turn a blind eye to bullying anymore, both sharing a high five.
  • The Day I Became A Demon in its entirety. Erika and Kana are friends, but bullying caused a rift between the two. Going by the rumor of a wish being granted, if one writes their name into an old notebook, Erika's wish is to return to before the bullying began and Kana, still furious over the bullying, wishing for Erika's disappearance. As Erika is locked into an old room that is burning, Kana risks her life to get Erika out of there. And the chapter ends with the two of them going back to being friends and not caring about any attempted bullying anymore.
  • The Bus Bound for the Underworld having Hayato patiently listen to Miku and encourage her to keep living her life. Extra heartwarming, when one learns that Hayato is the spirit of her deceased grandfather, who waited for decades at the bus station and only boarded when his girlfriend died, so they could head to the afterlife together.
  • Human Ranking having Ren decide to stand up for her bullied friend, Saku, and choosing to rather be unpopular, and likely bullied, than abandoning her friend ever again.
