In General
- Callista appoints herself as Jim's protector when they meet, going Entertainingly Wrong that he is a Naïve Newcomer. Despite her snickering when he says he's half-human and that not all humans are bad, she immediately picks him up when his injuries slow him down and tries to get him to the safety of the woods. You can see why the Amulet chose her to become the first Trollhunter over a then arrogant Draal.
Spellbound
- Toby gives Claire a giant hug on seeing her for the first time in months.
- Galahad pulls a Heroic Sacrifice to buy Merlin some time.
- Douxie asks Claire to trust him as they're dangling above the time portal with Steve and Jim in stasis. She realizes what he's going to do, and he makes them both let go, and grabs her so that he can shield her from the impact.
History in the Making
- Lancelot goes Entertainingly Wrong while training Steve, assuming he lied about being a knight because he wants the glory. He reassures Steve that his "secret" is safe with him and promises to make him a great warrior. One could hope that if he found out the truth, he would be just as understanding.
- Morgana sees her new "handmaiden" Claire investigating her shadow staff...and she is nice to her. She relates about having to keep a part of yourself a secret, that it's hard to control something you're trying to hide. Claire visibly relaxes, seeing this Morgana isn't the Pale Lady.
- When finding out that Arthur is going to wipe out all the magical creatures he's captured just because, Douxie says Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right! and they are going to rescue Jim, changes to the timeline be damned.
- The fact that Merlin figures out immediately that the Douxie acting strangely is not his apprentice, at least for Merlin. He's still a jerk about it and doesn't even want to hear him out, but it shows that he knows Douxie too well for any impostor to get him.
- Doubles as Moment of Awesome, but Steve improvises rap lyrics to warn the would-be jail escapees that Arthur is coming a few hours early for execution.
- Gunmar of all people gets one. As an injured Jim is sprawled on the ground about to be knight chum, Gunmar pulls him back and threatens the knights for invading his territory. It's almost sad that they will become mortal enemies later.
- However, this could just have been merely an act of possessive territory on Gunmar's part, not for the sake of the innocent trolls.
Witch Hunt
- Douxie posits to Merlin that if they reconcile Arthur and Morgana, it will save the timeline. Merlin, in a softer but gruff tone, tells Douxie that it's not that simple to change time or people. He sounds a little open to the idea at least.
- Morgana and Arthur look wistfully at their memories of Gwen when Douxie summons them in the woods. They see their younger selves playing among the trees, and Morgana offers a flower to the image of Gwen. It's implied that if the knights hadn't found the trolls, they would reconcile then and there.
- Nothing for Steve? The barbaric Jerk Jock turned (somewhat) bumbling Nice Guy? After Claire exposes her magic to Lancelot while saving Jim, Steve quickly knocks his own mentor out cold with a boulder twice without any hesitation, all to protect Claire's magical nature from the other knights. Even if Steve wants to become a real knight, his friends will always come first.
Lady of the Lake
- This exchange:Douxie: I won't just sit here without making things right!Merlin: And I won't lose another apprentice! [Echos]
- The way Merlin shouts, the emotion in his voice is so different from anyway he's spoken in Trollhunters, it's the first sign he genuinely cares about his apprentices.
Battle Royale
- After dealing with the changeling, the Lancelot and King Arthur finally see Steve as a worthy knight after he proved his worth by protecting the king and fighting with valor. Steve is clearly touched.
Killahead, Part One
- Jim and Claire's date in what will later be called Arcadia in the future. After having to survive a hunting party and being racked with guilt, it's nice to allow these two enjoy their moment together before preparing for what comes next.
- It was also sweet of Douxie to allow Jim and Claire to take a break.
- While the montage of Merlin and Douxie creating the amulet, is an epic moment. It's also a subtle heartwarming one for the master and apprentice. Douxie is putting everything Merlin taught him into practice and the wizard in turn gives the boy and proud look.
- Merlin giving Douxie his own staff and finally dubbing him a master wizard.
Killahead, Part Two
- Steve promises Lancelot he will reform the Round Table so the knights can fight again.
- Douxie promises Jim that he'll find a way to help restore his humanity once they return to the present and aid his friends against the Arcane Order. Jim readily places his entire faith into the wizard with a handshake.
- The two have really come a long way since when they first met, Jim was jealous and uncomfortable of Douxie supposedly hitting on Claire. Now, the two have clearly grown to become close friends.
- While it doubles as a Tear Jerker, after Jim finally tells Claire that there's no cure to remove the shard from his chest, he assures her that no evil spell will affect his love for her. And if there's one thing he understands, they always find a way to save each other, no matter the odds.
Wizard Underground
Dragon's Den
- While Archie is admittedly embarrassed by his father Charlemagne, but their relationship is clearly a very loving one. The worst thing we hear is that Charlemagne was disappointed that his son chose to become a familiar, but by the time Archie brings Douxie to him he's gotten over it.
- Charlemagne helping Douxie through his grief over Merlin's death by reminding him of the family he still has: The Guardians of Arcadia.
Our Final Act
- Claire finally gets through to Jim's corruption and frees him, until he gets turned to stone. Luckily, Claire's tears were able to revive Jim and restore him back to his human form. Claire's tears of grief immediately become tears of joy and the two hug.
