- Bill "The Proposer" Carlson planned on proposing to his girlfriend if he won Wipeout. After barely surviving the first two rounds, he enters the Wipeout zone. Instead of waiting to see if he wins, he proposes before his run, which the show kindly gives him the opportunity to do so while also televising the whole thing.
- In the UK version of the series, the eliminated contestants wait on the sidelines and cheer on the people still in.
- Also in the UK version, during the series 2 Champion episode, "Return of the Headband" Dan declares his overall victory during Dizzy Dummies is for fellow contestant, "Scary" Claire, who he'd beat in a three-way dead heat in the previous round.Dan: YEEEES! That's for you, Claire! That's for you!
- In Season 6's version of Hotties vs. Nerds, Jill's warming towards Nerd David Tamayo (nicknamed "Angry Fanboy"). Specifically, John Henson states that Jill asked for David to have a minute "to pitch himself to the women of America", and indeed, David is given a chance to do so.
- Given David's comment that he never even got a "real hug" from his ex-girlfriends, it's incredibly heartwarming to see this "nerd" hanging out with the beautiful Jill Wagner, who seems to have developed an attachment to him.
