In a way, the reason why Katsumi tried to crush Izuku's dream of being a hero: after learning of the true toll of being a Hero, Katsumi realized Izuku would be at even greater risk - so the only way to keep him safe was to turn him off the idea of becoming a Hero, doing anything she could even though she hated doing it. Because she would rather have him alive and unhappy than dead.
Mei doesn't question Izuku's dream to become a hero like so many do at first, she just immediately accepts it and demands they team up.
Though Mei and Izuku's relationship starts out businesslike, it quickly morphs into a strong and caring friendship.
For Mei's birthday, Izuku creates a pair of goggles in her style that automatically go to night vision to help combat her fear of the dark, and which she can also use for work.
Izuku recognizing what Momo is feeling and reassuring Momo that even if she got in on a recommendation, not to doubt herself because she deserves to be at UA - which he reaffirms later when he helps her come up with a way to make more effective use of her Quirk.
After the USJ Battle, half the girls pile on Izuku, relieved that he is alive.
Izuku assuring Mei that she and her inventions didn't fail him and, in fact, he is alive because of her inventions, as well as reassuring her that she means more to him than what her inventions can do for him. Which leads to their First Kiss.
Ochako reveals to Izuku the reason she wanted to become a hero - to earn enough money to help her mother. Izuku tells her that she is worthy of being a hero, because she is still saving people, and she's doing it so others will be able to live in peace. This prompts Ochako to confess her feelings, and Izuku kisses her, leading to a Relationship Upgrade.
Katsumi and Izuku's resolution to mend their broken friendship.
Inko watching with pride during the Sports Festival as her son proves himself and, most importantly, how happy he is. And she thanks Toshiko for being the one that helped Izuku achieve that.
Izuku, Mei and Ochako reassuring Momo that they love her and are proud of her after Shinso defeats her.
Izuku convincing Shoko to begin using her fire Quirk so she can be a great hero, in the middle of their fight. Izuku's support ends up leading her to visit her mother Rei for the first time in a decade - with Rei forgiving her youngest daughter almost instantly and the two crying together.
Izuku revealing his Quirk on live television inspires the Wild Wild Pussycats into finally getting Tiger the sex change operation he needs. The group makes a note to thank Izuku for it by sending him an internship offer.
Izuku gently telling Tomoyo off for going after Stain on her own and then hugging her while being thankful that he and the others arrived on time.
After the fight with Stain, Izuku, Katsumi, and Tomoyo are taken to the hospital. Shoko visits her mother (who is also there) and asks Izuku if he can come with her. Rei is glad to see the person that convinced her little Snowflame to use her fire again, and the three spend a few hours with Rei's photos of Shoko as a girl.
Toshiko's Adorkable attempt to ask Inko out - and her asking before she can. It's probably the first time in years that Toshiko has been able to do something for herself, and it's so adorable!
Then, Inko calls Izuku to ask for advice, and Izuku calls Toshiko to both give them his blessing and warning her not to hurt his mother.
