Go To

With all the danger and perils present across the worlds that the Evermore visit, there are some quiet moments which genuinely warm people's hearts.

     General
  • Anytime Audas Kingsley reunites his companions in the Recursions or Realms.
    • The first time, Audas accidentally brings Cascadia into the Recursions after reminiscing about never seeing it again. He finds himself back home, reunited with his companions. All three proceed to hug him, as in Cascadia, he had went missing and the poor guys had been worried sick about him.
    • The second time, Audas had seemingly not vanished at all, but they're still happy to see him regardless.
    • Audas' whole relationship with them deserves a mention. After explaining the situation about the Recursions, they choose to believe him, even though they had every reason not to and follow Audas back to Metropolis, determined to help him. In Realms, after Audas helped them remember their time in the Recursions, they proceed to drop their things and willingly help Audas attempt to save Elizabeth Station in Dead Utopia. They definitely show themselves as True Companions.

  • Anytime Evermore partner up and start developing a friendship in the series is a big one. Some notable examples...
    • Audas and Kili Kingsley quickly build up a friendship right at the very start, with Audas often settling into Big Brother Mentor for the younger Kili.
    • Although technically paired Evermore, Warden and Beeten also build up a friendship despite a shaky start. Climaxing with Beeten telling Warden to Get A Hold Of Yourself Man after Warden discovers he is was a Nevermore, Beeten still seeing the entity as his friend.
    • Iaresynd and Lunabelle have built up a friendly relationship during their travels.
    • Umbra and Spark, their relationship running strongly prior to their arrival in the Realms.
  • Evermore making friendships with Non-Evermore is also a good thing.
  • Some relationships are of especially worthy of note:
    • Warden and Snow. It starts off with the latter healing the former from the brink of death, with the two only getting closer and more intimate as they continue to interact with Warden starting to soften up and show more human traits. Their relationship gets to the point that Warden jumps straight into The Neverdawn Citadel aka inside the Vortex itself to rescue Snow from Crusader. Even though it ends with Snow being turned into a Harbinger and making a Dying Declaration of Love to Warden. It finally tops out with Warden returning the favor by bringing Snow back to life (thanks to Chekhov's Gun according to Word of God) and admitting his own feelings with a Big Damn Kiss.
    • Not to be overshadowed, but Newix and Harbinger's relationship is one. Newix feels a great deal of responsibility for the latter being turned into a Harbinger. Meanwhile the latter clearly has a great deal of trust in the former. Whilst nothing is ultimately implied, it blends into Tearjerker as amongst Newix's Last Thoughts during his Heroic Sacrifice is the thought of Harbinger, who is left devastated by the event...
  • During the journey to the Silent Forest, Umbra cracks under the new threat of The Darkwater which comes so suddenly after dealing with another world-ending threatnote  and is not very keen to deal with a new one. Everyone in the group in some form or another, expresses sympathy and understanding his plight. Even Crusader of all people offers some sympathy in his own way.
Crusader: "It is not often by our own choice that we fight. Illusion it may be, fate rarely lets us slip away."
  • The Ending. Even though it overlaps with Tearjerker, just the ending.
