The moments are rare, but when they're there, they're there.

  • Towards the end of "Baby Shrek", Shrek finds out from a news report that his infant son is really a clone of him as the result of eating cloned Sara Lee Cheesecake. When the Sara Lee company offers a recall of the clones, Shrek chooses to keep his clone and raise him like his son for eighteen years, despite Mario's warnings.
Junior: (leaving for college) I love you, Dad.
Shrek: I love you too, son.
  • A minor, but noticable one happens near the end of "No Towel". In it, Black Yoshi starts beating up what he thinks a mummy. He then realizes it's Toad and starts to apologizes and check up on him, even calling "Buddy". With Black Yoshi being a huge jerk to everybody, everybody being a huge jerk to Toad, and these two things being played up when the two interact, this was very nice to see. Even if Black Yoshi goes back to playing Call of Duty, he promises to check on Toad once he's done.
  • Another moment with Black Yoshi happens in the 10th episode of Mario and Luigi's stupid and dumb adventure's season 2 when he saves Mario's life from a zombie Peach
Black Yoshi: Mario, You can NEVER say I did not do NOTHING for you man, I just saved your life.
  • Mario reuniting Rosalina with Luma at the end of "Mario's New Girlfriend!".
  • In "Rosalina's Ex-Boyfriend!" where D-Money throws the fight for Mario.
  • "Mother's Day!" has three moments that do count.
  • In the Grand Finale of Bowser Junior's Summer School when Junior kills the fly in an attempt to pass the class and Jackie Chu hugs him for doing so.
  • In "Chef Pee Pee's Birthday", Chef Pee Pee has a crappy birthday thanks to Bowser, Junior, and his deadbeat father. note  Jackie Chu later turns things around for Chef Pee Pee by giving him a shirt with his name on it and informing him he will also be getting an iPad in the mail. He also invites Chef Pee Pee to help him name his pregnant wife's upcoming child.
  • "The Fishing Trip!" has a few moments:
    • It opens up with a tearjerker where Bowser is crying over a Charleyyy and Friends episode where Charleyyy is upset by the fact he never knew his dad, similar to Bowser. It turns into a heartwarming moment when he realizes that he's turning into his own dad with the way he raises Junior, and is determined to spend time with him.
    • When Bowser asks Mario if he wants to go on the fishing trip, despite his insistence on not being Jeffy's dad, he says he doesn't want Jeffy to be near bodies of water because he might drown. Mario DOES care about him in some ways.
    • When a shark attacks Junior, Bowser clearly panics, and after the lifeguard proves incompetent, he tries to get Junior to punch the shark. Junior does so, but he fails to escape from the shark, getting attacked again. As a result, Bowser jumps in, beats the shark, saves Junior, and congratulates him on "catching" his first fish.
  • The ending to "Bowser Junior Goes Military School! Part 2", wherein after Joseph and Cody force Junior into breaking the table with Bowser's clown car (the very act that got him sent to military school), Bowser refuses to send Junior back to military school, believing not even Brooklyn T. Guy could change his bad behavior. Even though he's not sure what will make Junior well-behaved, he decides to accept him for who he is, tells him he loves him, and decides to help him fix the table with tape.
  • In "Chef Pee Pee's Birthday Surprise!", Chef Pee Pee goes through an emotional rollercoaster at his party that Junior made for him with the help of his friends. At the end of the episode, Chef Pee Pee tells Junior that he enjoyed his party, and even though he constantly makes him miserable, he appreciates how he thought about him on his birthday.
  • A small one, and YMMV, but there's something oddly comforting about the fact that Screwball lives with Joseph in his house. Sure, he's been established as a pedophile, but from the way he and Joseph interact, it seems he hasn't pulled anything on him, they seem pretty comfortable with each other, and it's very relieving to know that Joseph at least has another living person in his run-down, pitch-black house.
  • Even despite the fact he just makes Chef Pee Pee life a living hell and never stops to bother him, its clear that Junior in some ways does care for Chef Pee Pee, as he was distraught when he accidentally killed him in "Evil Chef Pee Pee!".
  • In "Bowser's Doritos", Junior been eating his dad's Doritos without him knowing, thus Bowser assumes that Chef Pee Pee was eating them]. When Junior found out that his dad was blaming Chef Pee Pee for something he did, Junior tries to tell his dad he was the one who ate them, not Pee Pee, instead of just going with it and have Pee Pee be punished for his actions, but Bowser refuses to listen and still punishes Pee Pee. At least Junior tried to clear Chef Pee Pee's name knowing that he could get in trouble with his dad, even though he failed.
  • In "Bowser's Depression", despite the fact the one thing he would wish in the world is for Bowser to die, when Chef Pee Pee saw that Bowser was trying to kill himself, he saved his life.
    • Junior trying to cheer up his dad by making his own show with Chef Pee Pee.
  • In "Rosalina's Parents!", even though Rosalina was shocked to find out that she's adopted, that doesn't change how she feels about her adopted parents and still loves them dearly; the same goes for the Aliens, too.
    • In the same episode, when Mario doesn't find Jeffy in his bed, he then realizes that the window of their room is open. Considering they are in a three-story apartment, he quickly fears that Jeffy had fallen to his death. That didn't happen, but yet again, Mario was worried for Jeffy's well-being.
      • He also clearly panics when he sees Jeffy getting abducted.
  • In "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 5", Chef Pee Pee goes to work at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, which goes the way one would expect, but when the animatronics capture him, instead of stuffing him into another animatronic, it's revealed that they just wanted to give Chef Pee Pee something to eat, which Chef Pee Pee appreciates and they hug him.
  • While short-lived, it was sweet to see Mario become proud of Jeffy when he thinks he finally used the bathroom in "Jeffy Goes To The Zoo!". Although he didn't, Mario still rewards Jeffy by taking him to the zoo, instead of protesting or punishing Jeffy as Mario got stuck in a loophole since Jeffy pooped in his pants and pooped in the bathroom.
    • In the same video, Mario rips his dick out on national television, which results in him becoming a hero and not being blamed for Harambe's death anymore.
  • In a creepy way, but in "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!", where Junior spends his birthday at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, despite the fact the animatronics kill his friends, Chef Pee Pee and Brooklyn T. Guy, they spare Junior and they let him celebrate his birthday by bringing a cake and singing Happy Birthday to him.
  • In "Bowser Junior Stubs His Toe!", Chef Pee Pee actually felt sorry for Junior when the latter accidentally stubbed his toe and ended up in a wheelchair, instead of making fun of Junior for his current predicament as he would've normally done.
  • To put it simple, the montage at the end of "The Koopalings! Part 2" shows a series of scenes from the video itself and various videos set in the apartmentnote , in remembrance of the now-abandoned apartment where Logan's videos from April 2015 to late 2016 were set in.
  • Joseph's mom being brought back in "The Past Machine!", finally putting an end to the repetitive "Joseph's House!" Running Gags. Well, at least until Junior brings back the Big Bang, and destroys Cody's Past Machine in the resulting timeline.
  • Junior and Cody's well-intentioned loving, then saying goodbye to their "children", Junior Jr. and Chas, in "Chef Pee Pee's Kids!" before they get picked up by Child Services, while also touching, can be a little warm.
  • In "Smart Jeffy", after Jeffy becomes intelligent from an accident, Brooklyn T. Guy gets Mario to enter Jeffy into the International World's Smartest Person Contest, and at first Mario doubts it, before Brooklyn tells him that the prize money is a million dollars. As a result, Mario actually shows love towards Jeffy, even calling him his "son". Even if it's for his own gain.
  • From "Happy Merry Christmas!", Junior making the best Christmas ever for Joseph, giving him the spatula he took from Chef Pee Pee and intended to give back to him, making it snow in his house with packing peanuts, and having Atso serve as Santa.
  • From "Jeffy's Parents!":
    • Mario calling Brooklyn T. Guy, so he can arrest Nancy for beating her son Jeffy.
    • Mario officially adopting Jeffy as his son at the end of the episode.
    • Mario and Rosalina hooking back up after Mario adopts Jeffy.
    • Mario allowing Jeffy to play his cat piano without any objections.
  • At the end of "The Couch!", Mario lets Shrek back in the house, but not before admitting to Shrek that he pooped on the couch. Upon hearing this, Shrek hugs him. The video even ends with Mario doing teamwork with Shrek by helping him fart in a jar.
  • In "The Golden Egg!", while this is Played for Laughs and somewhat nonsensical, Mario calling Jeffy a genius after he flips the table over while looking for the titular golden egg is oddly sweet, considering the fact they generally don't get along.
  • Cody's reaction to him being in Mario Superstar Baseball on the Nintendo GameCube in "Cody's Missing!".
  • Junior being overjoyed to bring back Gumbo to life in "Drawing Jeffy!". Too bad it doesn't last.
  • Rosalina selling some of her stuff, in order to give Mario $500 so he can pay back Jeffy in "Jeffy's Piggy Bank!".
    • Jeffy forgiving Mario for stealing his $500, even stating that he would've given Mario the money if he had asked in the first place.
  • Despite it being a lie from Chef Pee Pee, it's still heartwarming to see Mario being proud of Jeffy in "Chef Pee Pee The Babysitter!", after Pee Pee nods that Jeffy was a good boy.
    • From the same episode, not only does Chef Pee Pee manage to get $500 from Mario for babysitting Jeffy, but Bowser also actually likes the food Chef Pee Pee made him, and pays him an additional $100 along with the $500 he promised to pay him if he succeeded.
  • Despite the misery Junior gives him, Chef Pee Pee still gets worried and even cries when Junior and his friends go missing in "Stuck!".
  • Bowser and Junior giving each other their tickets and going to Punch in the Face-a-thon in "2 Tickets". It's nice to see Bowser and Junior have their bond.
  • Despite the fact it was rigged in his favor, it was still nice to see Chef Pee Pee win the Best Cook Competition in "The Bet", considering his Butt-Monkey status.
  • Mario and Rosalina finally getting engaged in "Black Yoshi's Mistake!", then getting officially married in "Mario's New Hat!".
  • Jeffy bonding with Shitass in "Jeffy's Dog!".
  • In "Jeffy's Bike!", Jeffy giving his bike away to a homeless man, who had absolutely nothing. It's also a shocking moment, since you'd except anyone but Jeffy to give away the bike.
  • Ken surprising Cody by jumping out of his cake in "Cody's 10th Birthday!".
    • Chef Pee Pee is the one that put Ken in the cake in the first place to surprise Cody. As he watches Cody's joyful reaction, he says a quiet, sincere "Happy birthday, Cody."
    • Also, at the end of the episode, Lance gives a Patreon shoutout as Tony. This might mean that everyone's favorite tiger is coming back.
  • In "Jeffy's Paper Shredder!", Goodman has a rare instance of this trope by using some of his lottery money which he won with Mario's shredded lottery ticket to pay back the mortgage on his house, although it does cause him physical pain.
  • During a gaming convention, Logan actually got to speak with Charles Martinet, the voice-actor of Mario himself. The whole gang gets their pictures taken with him, and the experience undoubtedly strengthened Logan's resolve.
  • In "Cody's Favorite Game!", Goodman outright dumps a bucket full of gold and gems on Cody for mentioning Lords Mobile in the video. He even sincerely thanks him without a hint of sarcasm.
  • JJ, Chilly's other brother, willingly gave his channel "Spooka" to Logan to use as a haven. Said channel is now officially known as SuperMarioLogan 2. Sadly, the channel was hacked and stolen by a troll (likely one of the "flaggots" who mass-flag Logan's videos either out of spite or morality, and therefore, Logan has been forced to abandon it.
  • Though it's mainly Played for Laughs, Bowser fretting over Junior's safety upon hearing there's a child kidnapper on the loose shows how much he's come to care about Junior in recent years.
  • "Bowser Junior's Mom" actually has quite a few. For one thing, Bowser actually makes an effort to do something genuinely good for Junior, by calling his real mother and saying that she's been neglecting Junior for too long. Then, when Junior finally meets her, it's oddly very sweet, since for the most part it's played straight (even with his mom being an actual turtle). Then, when it seems as though Chef Pee Pee accidentally cooked her into Turtle Soup, they give us a satisfying Bait-and-Switch revealing that he simply cooked a different turtle. At the very end, Junior's Mom agrees to live in the house with Junior and Bowser. With the show's normal tone, it's sweet to see an episode with a happy ending.
  • In "Bowser Junior's Big Vacation!", when the whole thing with Chef Pee Pee being nice was no more than a dream and the events pretty much played out the same out way as the beginning, Cody watching a documentary about whales in Alaska, Joseph being arrested for shoplifting a gas station and going to prison... but, in a twist, Chef Pee Pee actually offers to take Junior to Disney World. Without an ounce of hesitation, no less. Also, he had absolutely nothing to gain from this move, but the reason he took Junior to Disney World is that even though Pee Pee still can't stand him, Junior's his pain in the ass.
  • In "Black Yoshi's Chicken Sandwich", it is revealed here that while Black Yoshi is nothing but a parasite who does nothing apart from eating chicken, drinking Kool-Aid, sometimes stealing from Mario (and other people) in order to get what he wants, caring for no one except himself, shamelessly begging Mario for the new Call of Duty game or some other item he wants every single year (despite the fact he's on welfare) without bothering to pay Mario back, asking Mario for money and/or his credit card info, and neglecting to contribute a single red-cent in bills or house payment. However, Mario certainly didn't want Black Yoshi to be put in a coma, and even blames himself for it, when, in actuality, was all Jeffy's fault that a vacuum cleaner knocked Black Yoshi out cold in the first place.
    • For that reason, Mario willingly puts himself through hell and back in order to obtain a Popeye's Chicken Sandwich, which were apparently so good they ran out of stock very often, just to revive Black Yoshi. Granted, he does try to cheat with a KFC Chicken Sandwich, nearly killing Black Yoshi.
  • In "Joseph's New Shell!", after Joseph breaks his old shell, he sells his soul to Craig the Devil for a new shell that's red and has wings. Junior is jealous of the new shell and tries to trick Joseph into thinking he got him a new birdhouse to distract him while he breaks the new shell. Joseph, however, really likes the new birdhouse, having not lived in a real house in years. He tells Junior that he really is a best friend for getting it for him, and this gives Junior a change of heart. Afterwards, Joseph tells Junior that he can fly him around with his new shell.
  • In "Bowser Junior's Stinky Friend!", Bowser Junior is forced to banish Stinky (a bum whose real name is Hansel). Junior tries to dance around the subject so as to not hurt his feelings, but Hansel cuts him off with this because he knows what Junior is trying to imply, having been chased out of so many places many times before.
Stinky (Hansel): It's okay, Cheeseball Man. I've been kicked out of lots of places: like McDonald's, the gas station, Wal-Mart,... but you, Cheeseball Man..you were the only one who was nice to me. You gave me so many cheese balls and you let me pee in your bed.note
Junior: Well, I just really care about you, and I just want you to be happy, Stinky.
Stinky (Hansel): I love you, Cheeseball Man. I'll never forget you.
Junior: I love you so much, Stinky! (They embrace for a brief moment.) I hope I see you again one day, Stinky...
Stinky (Hansel): Uh-huh... see you on the other side, kid. (chuckles)
(Stinky drops his empty beer bottle, breaking after a bounce. By the time Junior looks up, Stinky has already vanished.)
    • Hell, the whole episode is a general heartwarming moment. Junior actually tried to help out a homeless guy and get him back on his feet the whole episode. His attempt failed miserably, but keep this in mind: Junior did all this for Stinky, expecting absolutely nothing in return and he genuinely felt sorry enough for Hansel to try and take care of him. Keep in mind that this is someone who, among an unfurling list of other things, once poisoned his own chef as an April Fools' prank, and he tried to help a homeless guy for absolutely nothing in return.
  • In "Jeffy's 18th Birthday", Marvin and Rose are estatic when it's revealed that Jeffy survives a truck explosion that should've killed him. What the former says, in particular, is enough to make someone shed tears of joy.
Mario: Jeffy, listen: I know you're 18, but you don't have to move out of the house. You can stay here as long as you want because I can't imagine life without you, because I've gotten so used to you. I know—I know I was mad at you today on your birthday, but that was because I thought we were getting money. But I don't care about the money; I just want you, Jeffy! I love you so much!
Jeffy: Love you too, Mommy and Daddy!
  • Cody deciding to paint the Sprite bottle green to shut up Junior in "Junior's Sprite Problem!", Junior actually thanks him for this. The main reason Cody did this, because that's what friends are for.
Joseph: But, are you really going to color the bottle every time he wants one?
Cody: Well yeah, because that's what friends are for.
  • Considering how really rare it is for the Junior trio to show affection, the ending of "Junior Does NOT Go To Whack'a'MoleLand!" is this, Junior admits to lying, Joseph decides to let Junior play with the mallet that he used for whacking the moles, and the trio shares a hug. You can tell, that even though they are always bitter and cruel to one another, mostly Cody, the trio can still shares rare moments of caring.
  • The end of "The Cheerleader Competition!" has Junior dressing as Penelope to try and goad Brooklyn Guy into grounding her. It ends up actually making Guy realize how much of a bad father he's been, prompting him to show up to the cheerleading competition to support her. And he really does, apologizing to Penelope for his behavior, throwing in a So Proud of You and taking her and Heidi to Chuck E. Cheeses.
  • PJ Crenshaw. When he seemed to get built up as a Roy clone, it get's turned on it's head and reveals Crenshaw is probably the nicest person to be around, something ginourmously refreshing for the Crapsack World setting. He brings down his groupies from insulting and trying to protect him, noting he isn't perfect, and even when he does shoo out Roy after out-cooling him, he instead gives the guy support and puts faith in him that one day, Roy will regain his lost cool.
  • Even if it was just to get Cody to stop crying, Junior staging a breakup with Ken in "ForsaKEN" goes to show how far Junior will go to cheer his friends up.
  • Tyrone of all people stands up for Cody's lead role in "Goldilocks"!
Marvin: ...Isn't this Goldilocks?
Tyrone: You got a problem with my son bein' a woman?
  • Lil' T showing concern and care for Chef Pee Pee's health in his own weird way in "Chef Pee Pee's Girlfriend!", even lending Pee Pee a prostitute of his own so he can feel the joy of having a girlfriend.
  • It's rare but "Jeffy's Speeding Ticket!" shows that Mario really does care for his adopted son Jeffy, Mario go with Jeffy to rob the bank to help him avoid jail, and at the end, Mario even admitted that he didn't want Jeffy to go to jail and that he would do anything for his son. Even Brooklyn shows some empathy for Mario with this, letting Jeffy stay a free person.
  • Cody finally has a love interest who isn't a doll who is none other than Timmy Huckerdoo. Not only is he Cody's new crush, but he's also a great friend who is the only person in the entire series to never insult or ridicule Cody, especially when it comes to his appearance. Cody even returns the nice gestures like sticking up for Timmy in "Neighborhood Watch". It is made quite clear that they have the healthiest relationship in the franchise.
  • Cody rescuing the baby blue lobster in "Cody Works at Red Lobster!".
  • Timmy and Cody officially became a throuple with Ken in "Cody's Love Triangle!"
