Heartwarming / Sunset Boulevard

• Anytime Joe shows he actually does care about Norma, which makes the ending that much more tragic.
• In the musical, the new year's party is this before it goes awry. Joe and Norma actually have a good time together, dancing and laughing. It's surprisingly sweet.
• Cecil B. DeMille actually speaks fondly of Norma, and defends her to his Jerkass assistant. When he realizes Paramount was only calling because of her car, he tries to break the news to her gently.
• The old Paramount workers recognizing Norma, and rushing to greet her. The fans may have forgotten her, but her coworkers have not.
