Lila will never let her son come to harm.
"I got you! C'mere, little guy!"
Jaune to Pump, "Hollow Sorrows"

Spooky Month relishes in how spooky, yet funny it is, but with how many monsters have terrorized Skid and Pump and the people they love, it's always sweet to see karma reward them.

    Deadly Smiles
  • After Skid and Pump walk into the Candy Club and see Kevin sitting on the floor with a bloody ankle, Pump wordlessly grabs a band-aid and puts it on his wound, taking Kevin aback. Kevin cracks a wide, genuine smile and thanks him.
  • Even with all the Annoying Younger Sibling moments she is subjected to, Susie does care for Pump and his equally troublesome friend Skid, as she immediately wraps them up in warm blankets and serves hot chocolate after they come home freezing. As an additional Pet the Dog, Susie allows Pump to go at Skid's house despite having just come home after losing his sweater because she trusts Ms. Lila, and smiles when Pump celebrates.
  • For what is worth, it's nice to see that the big Happy Fella from the TV show has managed to cheer up the sad little guy and have a platonic Twirl of Love Bear Hug with him.

    Tender Treats
  • As soon as Lila is out of mortal danger, she becomes entirely focused on the safety of Skid and Pump. She even leaves her home to go looking for them despite the police telling her to stay inside on account of the active serial killer on the loose.
  • Despite being (understandably) irritated with Skid and Pump and the constant trouble they bring him, Kevin's first instinct when Bob shows up is to protectively hide the boys behind himself.
  • Every member of the Hatzgang gets some nice moments in this short. They are out to steal candy... because Robert's sister is seriously ill and they want to make her happy. When they see Skid and Pump walking by with a massive hoard of treats, Ross stops Roy from harassing them and Robert just asks if they'd be willing to share — and the boys are happy to do so. And after they lose all their candy to Bob, Roy gives the other two the huge bag of candy his rich mom bought him with a cheerful, "hope this helps!"
  • When Pump comes home from trick-or-treating with a massive bag of candy, he gets a kind pat on the head from his grandfather and gladly shares some of the loot with his sister.
  • Skid is as innocently oblivious to the horrors his increasingly-traumatized mother goes through as ever, but when he sees she's scared his first thought is to give her some candy and cuddle up on the couch to watch a movie together.

    Hollow Sorrows
  • When the kids try to apologize to Kevin for not paying and trying to give a pile of cash as compensation, he immediately pushes the pile away and tells them they don't need to pay for anything. Although the moment is cut short by Radford offering them free candy and then Father Gregor stepping in, it shows that even with all the stuff the kids put them through, no matter how much he complains he still can't stay mad at them.
    • Also, after the kids and Father Gregor leave, the Candy Club suddenly gets a swarm of customers and it's like a lightswitch flicks in Kevin's mood as he immediately starts smiling and happily talking to a man at the front with his kid.
  • Mr. Wonder, after overhearing Pump being upset about his parents not calling again, goes outside and buys a plushie for him to give as a gift from them. Although Susie sees the receipt for it in his pocket and asks what the point is, it's still a great sign that he loves his grandson and it helps Pump cheer up after the rough night he's been through.
