Heartwarming / Six: The Musical

Go To

  • Catherine of Aragon's "Oh, don't you remember?" when discussing Mary I in "No Way".
  • At the end of "No Way", Catherine of Aragon tells Henry, humbly and sincerely, that if she's really been a bad wife and hurt him, she'll leave him in peace. She just wants to know what she did. It's a sad moment, but it does show that Catherine did genuinely care for Henry and their marriage. Too bad he didn't share the sentiment, at least, not anymore.
  • The entirety of "Heart of Stone", performed by Jane Seymour. Especially the bridge, where she proves her love to her son:
    Soon I'll have to go
    I'll never see him grow
But I hope my son will know
    He'll never be alone
Cause like a river runs dry
    And leaves its scars behind
    I'll be by your side
    Cause my love
    Is set in stone
    • The title itself is when you listen to the chorus. At first glance, the phrase "Heart of Stone" evokes a coldhearted person. But in reality? It's how her love is constant and unchanging, even as the world around it changes.
  • Seymour lauds Aragon and Boleyn as "badass monarchs" for standing up to Henry, and then saying that she stood by him not because she was weak or scared, but because she loved him.
  • The queens stopping in the middle of a verbal catfight with a loud, genuinely concerned-sounding "WHAT?" when Anne of Cleves tries to hurry things along.
  • Despite joining in on mocking Catherine Parr for not wanting to compete, Katherine Howard tells her just before "I Don't Need Your Love" that if she really doesn't want to sing, it's okay and she doesn't have to.
  • During the verse of "I Don't Need Your Love" where Parr says what she wishes she could say to Henry VIII's marriage proposal (a resounding "no" followed by a "The Reason You Suck" Speech), the other queens begin to cheer for her and the hypothetical world where Parr didn't get forced into a marriage with a man she didn't love.
  • In "Six", the women fantasize about a life where they didn't know Henry VIII (except for Jane Seymour, who still loves both Henry and his children enough to fantasize staying and being alive with them) and had much happier and independent lives, but still bonded with one another over their love of music.
Catherine Parr: I don't need your love. All I need is Six!
(The other girls crowd around Parr, cooing things like "Awww..." and "Lovely, babeā€¦")
  • The show's band are the queens' ladies-in-waiting (Bessie Blount, Maggie Lee, Joan Meutas and Maria de Salinas) and are frequently hyped up by their respective queens. The most notable instance is the beginning of "Megasix".
