Heartwarming / Saved!

• Cassandra, the school bad girl, turns out to be amazingly kind and supportive to Mary on finding out about her pregnancy.
  • Roland ends up being a good friend, too.
• Dean has probably been thinking he'll never have kids, or if he does, it will have to be a complicated, expensive process.^note With adoption or surrogacy, medical and legal fees can be prohibitive for those who aren't well off. His happiness on finding out that he's going to be a dad after all gives one a warm, fuzzy feeling.
  • Then after the birth, he comes into the waiting room and says with pure joy on his face, "She's perfect."
• When Mary is getting her locker searched, the principal finds the pictures from her ultrasound. Rather than telling Pastor Skip, she immediately attempts to hide them out of respect for Mary to save her the embarrassment and lies to Skip that Mary has nothing else of consequence in her locker. Unfortunately, she accidentally drops the ultrasound in front of Skip immediately after, but the thought was there.
• Mary's mom seeing Pastor Skip in the parking lot with flowers, pacing nervously.
• Roland comforting his sister after her Villainous Breakdown (and possible Heel Realization) in an Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other fashion. He offers help, she apologizes to him, he apologizes back for ratting her out and she passes up the chance to seize on that by admitting she might have done the same.
  • In the same scene, everyone is stunned by Hilary Faye's breakdown and Car Fu into an effigy of Jesus - but it's Cassandra who gasps out a horrified "Oh my god." and rushes to check on her with Roland.
• Roland talking about how Hilary Faye found and helped him when he broke his back when they were younger.
• A lot of Roland and Cassandra's bonding.
