Ruby Rose of Class 1-A

• After receiving her acceptance letter into UA, Ruby can't help but to scream in delight. When Taiyang and Yang hear the good news, they both hug her and tell her how proud they are.
• Despite the initial awkwardness, Ruby and Izuku hit it off quite well because of their shared love of heroes and become fast friends.
• Before the mock battles, Ruby is shocked to realize that because of the odd number of students, she isn't able to find a team to participate with. Fortunately, Iida offers, without any prompting, to allow Ruby to join his team so that she won't be left out.
• When Ochako suffers from the side-effects of her quirk, Ruby's first instinct is to make sure she's okay despite the fact that they were on opposite teams during the mock battles.
• After the mock battles, Ruby tries to reach out to Bakugou after their first meeting didn't go well. Instead, Bakugou proceeds to berate her and state that it was a mistake to let her into UA. Fortunately for Ruby, the rest of 1-A is quick to jump to her defense and reassure her afterwards that she does, in fact, belong at UA. She's moved to tears by the whole gesture.
• In the aftermath of the USJ incident, Ruby and the rest of Class 1-A arrives back at the main campus to find Yang, Weiss, Blake, and the rest of her third-year friends rushing towards her. Ruby jumps into her sister's arms and the rest of teams RWBY and JNPR join in one big Group Hug with Yang crying Tears of Joy knowing that her sister is safe.
• While Ruby is blaming herself for the attack on the USJ, she confides in Iida and Uraraka about how she foiled Torchwick's robbery and how it was Torchwick who came to the USJ to get revenge on her. She then confides that she wanted them to know in case her actions come back to haunt her. Iida and Ururaka both reassure her that whatever happens, they won't let her face it alone because she is their friend.

A Peace Sign to the Sky

• Ruby seeks Shinsou out after he loses to Midoriya, she offers him some heartfelt words of encouragement and even tries to help by telling him to talk to Lie Ren, whose situation was similar to Shinsou's. Shinsou, at first, tells Ruby that he doesn't want her pity but she persists. When Shinsou asks her why she is being so nice to him, she simply responds:
  Ruby: “You just seem really lonely. Like you need a friend. And strangers are just friends you haven't met yet!”
• After Ruby's loss to Bakugou in the tournament, she feels depressed and thinks that she let everyone who was rooting for her down. Taiyang assures her that he couldn't be more proud of her for making it as far as she did.
• It's revealed that Taiyang leaves his home open to Ruby and Yang's friends if they need a safe place to stay. Whether it's Weiss needing to get away from her father; Blake, Nora, or Ren afraid of being alone; or Pyrrha or Tamaki dealing with their self-esteem issues, the Xiao Long-Rose household is there to help them. After Taiyang learns about Todoroki's troubled family life from Ruby, he offers to do the same for him as well.
• After the defeat of Stain, Ruby asks Iida, Todoroki, and Midoriya to promise her that if they ever do something dangerous like that again, they will bring her with them. Todoroki and Midoriya agree without any hesitation, with only Iida seeming to hesitate.
  Ruby: "Iida...Can I ask you something? We're friends...right?"
  Iida: "...Rose..."
  Ruby: "If we’re friends… then I want you to promise me something. Todoroki, Midoriya, the same goes for you...If we’re friends… next time you try to do something like this… bring me along with you? ...Friends don’t let friends do stupid things alone.”
  Iida: "I..."
  Todoroki: "You have my word."
  Midoriya: "Got it."
  Iida: "...Rose..."
• While everyone is recovering at the hospital, Ruby expresses relief that Iida is finally talking to them again. Iida then admits that's what he should have done from the very beginning. He then makes The Promise to Ruby, even referring to them by Ruby's nickname "Speed Buddies". Ruby is left absolutely beaming at this.
• When Dr. Oobleck asks to speak to Ruby alone, she is fully expecting to be read the riot act for rushing off to fight Stain. Instead, The Doctor actually commends her for trying to save her friends' lives, even though she still technically broke the law. He then gives her some advice about knowing when to fight and when to run away and get help.
• In the weeks leading up to final exams, Ruby is freaking out because she has difficulty with her classwork due to her ADHD and she is worried about failing the exam. It's then Midoriya proposes having a group study session to help her out. It's not long before Todoroki, Iida, Ochako, and Tsuyu also join in, and Ruby goes from being stressed out to absolutely excited to introduce her friends to her family.
• During the study party at Ruby's house, Ren reveals that he's been helping to mentor Shinsou to transition him into the hero course. Ruby is ecstatic as it looks like Shinsou took Ruby's advice to heart.
• During the class' trip to the mall, Uraraka confides with Ruby that she may have feelings for Midoriya but she isn't sure how to handle it. Ruby gives her friend some solid advice on how to handle her feelings and lets her know that they have all the time in the world to figure it out.

I-Island Vacation

• When Ruby becomes trapped by Wolfram's quirk, Midoriya immediately comes to her rescue before pursuing the villain. Midoriya reminds them that friends don't let friends go alone.
• After All Might and Midoriya takedown Wolfram, Ruby rushes towards Midoriya and hugs him, glad that he's alright. She then collapses in his arms from exhaustion after completely draining her stamina.

Falling and Rising

• After learning that Bakugo is hard of hearing as a side effect of using his quirk, Ruby asks Midoriya to help her learn sign language so that she can better communicate with him.
• Aizawa makes sure that Ruby has her ADHD medication before they start their trip to the training camp. He may be a strict, trickster of a teacher, but he does genuinely care about his students and looks out for their well-being.
• The whole class comes together to support Aoyama when he suffers from motion sickness.
• When the girls of Class 1-A and 1-B get together to have a slumber party, the topic of romance comes up. While the girls are talking about the quality the boys of 1-A have, Ruby starts fantasizing about both the guys and the girls of 1-A. It's then she realizes that she might be bisexual, and she starts to internally panic out of fear that her friends will reject her if they find out. When a throw-away comment by Mina causes Ruby to come out to everyone, the others are initially surprised, but they are very supportive of her and promise to make sure that whoever she chooses to date will treat her right.
• Ruby immediately comes to Kaminari's aid when she sees Monoma bullying him by stealing his medication. Kaminari then admits that he has ADHD to Ruby, which she tells him that she has it too. The two have a touching moment when he was worried that Ruby was still mad at him over the whole "Cheerleading prank". She reassures him that he's a good person deep-down and she still sees him as a friend.
• Following the fight against Muscular, Ruby confides in both Midoriya and Kota the story of her mother and how she died: something that is very similar to what happened to Kota's own parents. She provides a sympathetic hand, relating in shared pain and a different outlook on the situation as well.
• After the raid, Ruby's friends all check in to make sure she's alright. Jaune reassures her that she shouldn't blame herself for Bakugo's capture and she did the best she could given the situation. Todoroki and Kirishima also come by to make sure she's okay, with Todoroki even placing Zwei in Ruby's lap because he figured she really needed it. They then inform her about their plan to rescue Bakugo, bringing up The Promise they made.
• When All For One's sudden appearance causes Ruby to experience flashbacks and nearly causes her to have a panic attack, Momo instantly tries to comfort her by taking her hand.
• During the whole rescue mission, Ruby is worried that she may have permanently damaged her relationship with her sister by sneaking out and ignoring Yang's repeated attempts to contact her. When she returns home, she is afraid that Yang is furious with her; however, she is immediately embraced by a crying Yang who reassures her that she still loves her despite what she did.
• After seeing Ruby's room and her "bunk-bed," Momo is concerned for Ruby's safety and conspires with Iida and Uraraka to surprise her with a safer, more structurally-sound, elevated bed.
