  • In episode two, Starlee calls Ticketmaster to ask a customer service rep about her Britney Spears meet-and-greet tickets. He can't answer her questions, but within a few minutes, they're confiding in each other and talking about life.
Dennis: More people should be curious about other people and just not focus on themselves. I mean, I believe that the purpose of life is each other.
  • The ending of episode two, "Britney." Imagine you write a book that almost no one in the world hears about, much less reads. Then you discover that one of your favorite celebrities not only read it but loved it, and remembers it years later.
  • The story that "Sated" tells about Hans Jordi in episode three. He was about to lose his scholarship to college and have to drop out unless he got an A in Hans's class, but he didn't tell Hans and is shocked when Hans gave him an A at the end of the semester. Sated's advisor told him that Hans never gave A's, meaning Sated had truly earned it. The next year, Sated returned to school and met his future wife, an event he still credits Hans with today.
  • The climax of "Belt Buckle," hearing Hans Jordi see the one-of-a-kind keepsake that he had thought lost for 30 years. As he begins to explain its origins, you can hear him struggling not to cry.
  • Margaret's story at the ending of "Vanity Plate."
  • In episode six, Starlee learns about lunchbox illustrator Elmer Lenhardt through interviews with his friends, who all speak about how much they admired him and his work, and how much he loved his job. His former neighbor even credits Elmer with inspiring him to become an artist himself.
  • At the end of "Kotter," Starlee presents Jonathan with a Welcome Back Kotter lunchbox of his own.
