Heartwarming / My Deepest Secret

Go To

  • Elios and Emma's date in a twisted way. He genuinely loves her.
    • He later tells her he is willing to kill anyone who will hurt her. It's an endearing sentiment...less so when you realize that he's not been hyperbolic. He can and has done so.
  • After all the bad luck Emma had with attracting unpleasant men, whether they're perverted or straight-up Yanderes, the revelation that Yohan, who has been shown so far to be a good guy, also is attracted to her comes off as this.
    • Better yet, when he tells Hana the reason why. He admires her kindness and selflessness.
  • The revelation that underneath her chilly facade, Hanamika is a good person and even Yohan's best friend to boot. It's pretty much the opposite of all the other revelations of people's true natures throughout this series, and it's refreshing. When Emma is separated from the group and eventually pushed off the cliff and into the river by Sophie, it's Mika who informs the group that Emma is missing which winds up culminating in Yohan (who was separated from his search party) saving Emma from drowning. In a way, Mika is responsible for saving Emma's life. She's also the one who tells Emma and Yohan the truth about the kind of person Sophie really is...
  • Besides the comedies in the bonus comic in Episode 30, the fact that Nura decides to confront Yohan about the video of Emma grabbing him instead of her shows that she never doubts her best friend and will always have her back. Plus, how she gets furious and protective when she hears from Harith that Yohan called Emma fat.
  • Late in the series, Yohan finally proves Mr. Oscar's innocence. Yohan was right about his friend. Like the example above with Hanamika, it's heartwarming in itself that there aren't really any twists here.
  • Towards the end of the series, Emma genuinely smiles and tears up as she watches the sunset on the beach with Yohan, years after her parents denied her this and never brought her back to see it. Also might double as a Tear Jerker when you later realize this is probably the last sunset she'll ever see as a free person.
  • Nura might be brash, brutish, and loud but she is the one true friend that Emma has ever had. She'll do anything to protect her best friend and cares deeply about her. When Yohan asked Emma while they were on the run who she would be able to say good-bye to one more time if she had the chance, Emma says without hesitation that it's Nura. It's sweet to know that the feeling was mutual and that Emma truly loved her friend.
