Modern MoGal is largely meant to be an adorable slice of life comic, and it does an admirable job.
- One of the cuter early arcs is the mermaid's first appearance; she meets a human boy, who sees all the trash she's surrounded by, and he grows up to become an environmentalist. The last panel of the page shows the beach, now clean, and the mermaid cheerfully waving at her grown-up friend.
- Beth and Dino's entire relationship, as well as their general actions throughout the comic.
- Dino:
- Shortly after his introduction, we get the story of how he met his wife. They were doing voice work on the same show, and he asked to meet her because he was interested in her voice. Even his initial shock at how huge she was didn't diminish his interest in her; his next few appearances are on dates with her, and seeing this big scary dragon get flustered by his date doing sexy things is just wonderful.
- During the half-dragon's first arc, Dino makes a cameo appearance... lifting someone's car to help them get their cat. He really is a nice dude, despite how scary he looks.
- Beth:
- Beth is evidently a bit of a nerd, dressing up as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and is disappointed when kids don't recognize her costume... but then a little boy dressed as one of the Ghostbusters identifies her. She's so thrilled that she gives him an entire bowl of candy (which is of course bigger than him).
