• Right after beating Jeremiah Gottwald's Shadow, Lelouch realizes how deeply, stubbornly attached the man is to his mother and through her to Lelouch himself. So he unmasks and tells Gottwald where to find him, leading the Purist to become a Confidant.
• Despite all the crap she went through, Shirley Fenette finally got a first and surprisingly sweet and normal date with Lelouch in Chapter 54 unlike her canonical self (either of them).
• Leila Breisgau's Love Confession in Chapter 58. Lelouch trying to make her reconsider before properly confessing, by citing the adversities ahead her if she tries to pursue a relationship with a guy already in a triad with two other girls, is both heartwarming and cruel on its own, but the way Leila shuts him up takes the cake. She asks him a seemingly out-of-place question: what would he do as a gambler if he were about to make the bet of his life, one that would mean beating the house once for all and been set for life if he wins? Would he risk it all on a single wager? A rather confused Lelouch answers that, if the chance is really there, how could he not do it? What would be the point of gambling in the first place if he doesn't have the resolution to see it through to the end? Leila then looks him straight in the eye and says that's her answer as well, the rationale behind her actions. This makes him realize that her Love Confession is the gamble of her lifetime that she's willing to make — not because she doesn't understand the risks, but because for her a long term relationship with him is like that big prize that she doesn't have to win twice.
• Lelouch suggesting for Kaguya to become an envoy to China in Chapter 63. It's partially to use the brewing revolution to advance the Black Knights' agenda, but he also makes a point to encourage Kaguya to befriend the Empress — who basically was imprisoned all her life in the Forbidden City and could really use a Cool Big Sis.
• Chapter 65 begins with Lelouch and Kallen having a private moment after Leila's inclusion in the Polyamory. While Lelouch initially comes off as unsure and awkward, both are able to reaffirm their relationship with him giving Kallen an omamori and a passionate kiss to show his feelings for her haven't lessened, as she secretly fears.
• Chapter 68 starts with Kallen and Lelouch discussing the raid at the Cult Base. Soon enough it turns into a sweet talk as the two discuss their feelings.
  • Followed soon when Leila brings Lelouch to the library. After a brief discussion of the findings from Kallen's mission, it turns into a warm discussion where Leila gets Lelouch to talk about her good points. When Leila brings up that Lelouch said her intellect got him 'even more interested in her', he elaborates that he always thought she was beautiful, and how from the start he recognized her as a kindred spirit, which was cemented as they became closer to each other. After a brief litany of French phrases, Leila goes in and kisses him, Lelouch then responds back in kind and reveals his own fluency in French. He then translates what Leila said to him, the content of which is just plain D'aww enducing.
    Leila: We are made for each other. You are everything to me and I am yours. But between two hearts that love each other, there is no need for words. The only true language in this world is a kiss. May my kisses be the words of love I do not say to you....If I had to relive my life, I would find you sooner.
